Sven~

Gods, how hard was it for people to do their fucking job.

I squeezed my forehead between my fingers, walking back into the restaurant.

It was completely silent, save me my shoes thundering into it.

I glanced up from my phone, stopping in my tracks the second I noticed the table was fucking empty and there was no sign of Rayna.

Just great.

My jaw tightened, irritation cutting sharp beneath my skin. My eyes caught the host lingering by the doorway, and I called him over with a short, clipped motion.

“Where’s the girl?”

The man looked around like I hadn’t done that already, eyes darting to the empty chairs as if she might magically appear between blinks.

“She was just here,” he stammered.

No kidding.

My patience was wearing thing.

I gave her one order, just one and she couldn't keep to it.

I dragged a hand down my face, fighting the urge to snap his neck just to make a point.

“I’ll ask once again,” I said, each word sharp enough to draw blood. “Where did

RaynaI pushed the bedroom door open, my eyes landing on Sven who was seated on his side of the bed. His eyes were glued to his phone as I made my way towards him.I could tell the stress of everything was beginning to tell on him, even though he tried his best to hide it.“Sven.” I took my seat beside him, finally grabbing his attention. “You're thinking too much about everything. I can tell.”“I'm not thinking too much about anything. I'm just…”“Hiding it, you're just hiding it.” I cut him off. He turned off his phone screen, placing it on the bed and turning his gaze to me.“I'm fine, Princess. I really am.”Living with Sven, I came to realize that there was a lot he hid behind the walls of his office and bedroom. He was a strong man, no doubt, but issues and situations still got to him and he hid all either behind the walls of this room or the walls of his office. He was definitely everything he portrayed and everything people described him to be, but no one could speak for a pa

RaynaWe were out of the rookie's cell and back upstairs to the main basement. I could tell Sven wasn't happy I didn't let him handle the issue the way he wanted and thought was right, but his way of handling it was only going to make things worse.“Mason.” Sven called out to the guy who's name I was just figuring out.“I want a background check on that rookie. His name, age, address, family, everything.”Mason nodded, “yes, Alpha.”Barely 5 minutes out and I could feel Sven's silent treatment again. Was he really going to go on with this?He began walking towards the exit and I trailed behind him. The sound of trucks heading towards the basement building grabbed my attention. The both stopped and men began trooping out of the basement to get the arrived crates.“You have the list of the deliveries to make this week, right?” he asked Mason.“Yes, I do.”Sven nodded. “Make sure they don't mix anything up.”“I'll double check.” He assured him.Sven turned to me and I hadn't known he rem

Rayna I didn't know if I was the one feeling the guilt, or if ignoring Sven's question made him even more quiet than usual. Was it that I didn't say what he wanted to hear? What exactly did he want to hear? I let out a sigh for the fiftieth time as I stared outside the window. The basement came into view and I couldn't be more happy that this silence was about to end soon. The car came to a stop and Sven was about to head out when I stopped him. “Sven.” He turned to me, his brows raised as he waited for me to speak, “are you okay? You've been quiet since we left the warehouse.” He frowned, “of course I am. You don't need to worry.” He stepped out of the car and closed the door behind him. I sighed again before heading out the car as well. I trailed behind him and into the basement. His men acknowledged him as always, but this time, acknowledged me as well. It was the first time they regarded my presence there, but this time felt different, thief greetings held the

Rayna“Um…Vivian, who…who delivered this here?” I turned to her.“Some guy, Ma'am. He literally dressed like a delivery guy and he noted that it was for you.”I could hear my heart beat pick up pace a bit, but I didn't want to think too much about it. Someone was definitely trying to scare me—or warn me.The problem and question now was: was it from my side or from Svens’?I had added to my enemy list by joining sides with Sven and I couldn't even tell which of them had a hand in this. The letters stopped after I realized that they had no actual meaning to them, but they just wanted to make sure that I knew it had always been for me.I nodded, “you can leave, thank you.”She nodded before heading out the room. My eyes fall back to the paper in my hand and I tried to guess who exactly might be trying to scare me.Arnaldo? Dario? His little pet mate? His bloody sister? There was a long line of possibilities.I pushed myself up the bed, still in my party outfit as I folded the envelope

RaynaThe air in the room seemed more tensed than before. Venus stared at me from my dress table where she was seated. She cleared her throat before speaking, “I'm just trying to be nice with what I'm about to say and I don't want you to take it the wrong way.”“What you'll say will determine if I'll take it the wrong way.” I said to her.She let out a sigh. “Don't you think you're putting your life at risk by involving yourself with the Mafia world?” I knew that was exactly what she wanted to say.“Is that what you want to talk to me about?”“I'm only considering your safety, Rayna. I think it's better you stay away.” She said.“Why should I stay away? I didn't complain to you I was scared did I?”She rolled her eyes, “we're not even sure who the hit is for. Besides, you're distracting him.”“Is the problem the fact that you've barely had time to spend with him?” I had to ask.I was really starting to think that Venus was giving up and finally becoming reasonable, but it seemed I wa

  • Slave To The Mafia Alpha   147: Was I Hallucinating?

RaynaWe arrived at the pack house and I couldn't be more grateful.I took off my shoes immediately we got into the limo and I was so not ready to put it back on.I opened the door and was about to find a way to head out when Sven stopped me.“Don't worry about it. I'll help you.” he picked up my shoes and walked out the door. Was I hallucinating? He bent over and picked me up bridal style and the driver assisted in closing the door behind me.“Are you going to carry me like this up the stairs?”“Of course I will, Princess.”I couldn't even protest because I had no way of walking to the room on my own without crying for help. The pack guards lowered their gaze as we walked past and I was really starting to feel embarrassed.I hid my face with my hands as we made it all the way to the room. He pushed the door open somehow and gently placed me on the bed.I gaze followed his figure as he returned my shoe back to the shoe shelf and I still felt like I was seeing things.I knew Sven Drag
