Juliet Diaz:-

"Oh my God, Jules! What's all this mess, and what's with this burning smell?"

Nicholas's worried voice came down the hallway as I tried to hide the evidence of the burnt chocolate cake I prepared for Nicholas out of jealousy when I found his female nurse feeding Nicholas her cake, and Nicholas liking and complimenting it, in a flirty tone so I wanted to show him that I could make a better one, and the only cake he is only allowed to eat is mine, but clearly the evidence is the proof that I suck at cooking and baking as not everyone can be a good cook like Nicholas.

I picked up the burnt cake and tried to dump it into the trash yet Nicholas entered the kitchen before I completed the action. Nicholas gazed at the chaos in surprise with his sharp blue eyes as he saw the countertop covered with flour dust and cocoa powder spillage while burnt sugar left an intense scent in the air.

I forced a nervous smile. "Surprise?"

Nick raised his brow while crossing his arms. His wo

Nicholas Carrington:-"Man, calm down and take a deep breath. Everything is going to be alright." Zach tried to calm me down on the phone as I paced around the room nervously while Juliet was getting ready for the night in the bathroom. Tonight is really special for me. I have planned to propose her at the gandola under the stars and sky lanterns."Calm down?" Rolling my eyes, I held the phone more tightly and moved over to the hotel window. Even though the view of Venice’s canals was pleasing, it didn’t calm me down. Zach, I have operated on brains with a firm grip, but tonight, my palms are just as sweaty as a new intern’s.On the other line, Zach laughed and I could hear how special that warm voice of his had become to me. The reason is that you are getting ready to give someone your entire heart. Not some ordinary person—Juliet. My sister.”I stopped for a moment and looked at the closed bathroom door. I could sense the sound of her sweet humming, the water running and the joyful

Juliet Diaz:-"What the hell is wrong with you, Nick?" I shouted out loud as he barged into my closet, returned with my clothes and suitcase in his hands, and threw them on the bed. "Wait, are you trying to kick me out of your house, Carrington?""Yeah, I am getting fed up of you, so kicking you out of the house," he mocked, rolling his eyes. "Seriously, babe? This is what you think of me?"I stared at him in total disbelief. “You jerk!” I gasped and threw a pillow at him, but it only made him smile.Nick just started dumping my clothing into my suitcase without looking, like he knew better than me what to pack. Admitting that would have made me sound weak, so I decided not to.I looked at Nicholas sternly and folded my arms, saying, “Seriously. Are you willing to share what’s happening, or should I tie you up and force you to talk?”He suddenly stopped and gave me a devilish smile. "What a generous idea. But we’ve got a flight to catch.”“A flight?” I studied him with more attention.

Nicholas Carrington:-"So, what's the reason you have brought me over here, dude?"Zack asked with a grin as he glanced around at the club and the women glancing and trying to flirt with us, which I declined of course, as I have got eyes, heart and my dick for only one woman. My Juliet, who is at home, busy sketching, surrounded by heavy security all around my penthouse."Hey, handsome men. Want to buy drink for us?" two ladies approached us as Zack and I settled on the bar and ordered our drinks. Zack pulled one woman by her waist and dragged her to him while I groaned and rolled my eyes."Sorry, but I am taken by a very beautiful woman who is waiting for me back at home, so I will pass." I politely declined, "And, I want to talk to my best friend in private. After all, it's his sister I am dating.""What? You're banging his sister?" the woman gasped, with her mouth hanging open, then glanced at Zach, "And, you are okay with it?""Nope, I wasn't, but I am now," he announced, looking

Juliet Diaz:-I woke up in the morning on an empty bed, with a note placed on Nick's pillow stating he was paged and had to leave due to an emergency case at the hospital. I smiled and laid down on the bed when I heard the voices coming from the kitchen. Nick is at the hospital so it must be Zach.I slipped off the bed, used the bathroom, freshened up and made my way down to find Zach dancing in the kitchen on his favorite song. I grinned looking at my brother and asked."Mind if I join you, brother?" I asked, "Just like old times?"When I stood by the kitchen door, Zach spun around, holding her spatula and beaming at me as he kept dancing.“Well, well, you’re up and looking good,” he teased, and he lowered the speaker volume a bit. Honestly, I didn’t think you’d be awake after everything we went through. After a quick shrug, I walked over to him with bare feet on the cold floor, still a little groggy but feeling a little better inside. I woke up to a note and your awkward attempts at

Juliet Diaz:-"Jules, don't." Nick stopped me, when I got on top of him to ride his dick. I pouted, and he sighed, caressing my cheek as he murmured. "Trust me, baby. I want to bury my dick deep inside of you, but I can't. I don't want to hurt you in any way. You need to heal first. Doctor's orders," he smirked as he said the last two words.I let out a moan and fell on top of him, allowing my cheek to touch his chest. Your level of self-control infuriates me, Doctor Carrington. He smiled and ran his hands over my back in a relaxed way. “I promise I can make it up to you right when you’re well again.”I was just about to answer before I heard the doorbell go off in the apartment.Nick uttered a sigh and gave me a quick peck on my forehead. “Stay right here. I’ll get it.”I heard him stretch his shirt and head out to open the door, making me hope that Zach would not make another sarcastic crack about locking the door. However, the sound coming from the hallway was not the same as Zach’

Juliet Diaz:-After waiting for Zach to go down the hallway to answer his call, I slowly stood up from the couch and walked into the kitchen area where Nicholas was plating the dinner. His back was to me, the broad shoulders all rigid in his shirt and for a moment I was watching him without speaking.Nicholas came to rescue me. He had fought for me. And now, he was hurting, quietly, beneath all that strength. I wrapped my arms around him from behind and pressed my cheek to his back. He stopped, and his hands became still across the plate.“I’m sorry,” I whispered. He moved slowly in my arms, frowning. “For what?”“For being the cause for your father to suffer”. My voice cracked. "For doing this to you. For taking you away from your own blood”.His eyes softened immediately. “Juliet—”“No,” I answered and took a step back so that I could look up at him. “Let me say this.”He nodded silently, waiting.“I am aware that what your father did is not forgivable. I know, I almost lost my life

Juliet Diaz:-"I will go and fix dinner for us. Zach will be staying with us for a couple of days or weeks until he finds a place of his own, " Nicholas informed me as he and Zach brought me back from the hospital. Nick helped me lay down on the couch and get comfortable, leaned down, and pecked my lips."I am here for you, but you should spend quality time with your brother. I know you both want to talk it out and get back to normal, so I will leave you both to give some privacy." Nick murmurs.I stretched up to my toes, and laid my hand gently on his cheek just before he could manage to pull back. “Thank you, Nick,” I whispered through my raspy voice, but a little stronger now. “For everything.”He looked down at me with soft eyes, and smiled. “Always, my queen.”Then he stood up and tipped his head to Zach and then walked into the kitchen, leaving the two of us in a peaceful silence.Zach was a couple of feet away, arms crossed against his chest, face inscrutable.“So,” I told, bre

Nicholas Carrington:-I phoned the hospital as I rushed through city traffic, one hand on the wheel, the other holding Juliet’s hand, begging her not to fall asleep.“Stay with me, baby. Don’t close your eyes, okay? Turning my head toward her, slumped in the passenger seat, I said, "You are going to be all right.” Blood stained her hairline. Her face was pale. Her chest kept moving as she breathed quietly. She was still fighting. As I pulled hard into the private entrance of Carrington Neurological & Trauma Center—my hospital—the first thing I did was bark into the intercom, “Get an OR ready. Juliet Diaz is the patient I am bringing in. Head trauma. Immediate CT and local application is what we require. I’ll handle the surgery myself.”The nurse replied at once, saying, 'Yes, Dr. Carrington.' “Everything is being prepped.”I brought Juliet inside while making my way quickly. “Get Dr. Lin to assist. Someone must monitor her vital signs during the operation. As I donned my gloves with r

Nicholas Carrington:-I rushed in ahead of Zach who was hot on my heels, guns in hands, our anger absorbing us. The moment we caught her voice on that tape and heard it weak, we didn’t hesitate. We didn’t wait for backup. We ran. Juliet’s voice had been weak. Broken. But still hers. There she was ensnared in a chair in the dimly lit warehouse. She was seated with her head bearing, her neck covered with dried blood, and her wrists crippled from struggling. Seeing her was causing me agony in the chest with despair. Her face and body were the proof of what she had just experienced. Immediately to her side but with their backs turned to her were the two faces I believed would be turned against me. My father… and Anika."Drop it!" My heart was pounding, I stormed out, gun in hand, eyes on the scene. “Step away from her!”Anika turned around with shock and the weapon aimed at Juliet was unerring even as she observed me. “Nick, she said her eyes erratic and a grotesque smirk. “You came.”“Of
