Roommate

Gillian Cook, my roommate, asked me to join her group order for a Black Friday online sale. It was a small request, but I turned it down immediately. I knew that if I joined the order, I would end up receiving a pile of unsealed adult toys. In my past life, Gillian tricked me into joining the group order to destroy my mental state and steal my early admission offer slot for grad school. When I went to the campus mailroom to pick up my package, the tissues I'd ordered had somehow been replaced with a pile of unsealed adult toys. Quite a few people got my phone number off the delivery label and messaged me with malicious intentions. I tried to explain that the items weren't mine, but Gillian pulled out the group-order records and said with feigned seriousness, "Those toys are nothing! Hannah's sex drive is through the roof! Having a boyfriend isn't enough for her—she spends the night with several different men every week!" As soon as she said that, I became the target of vicious online abuse. More harassment followed, and my boyfriend, Samuel Hunter, broke up with me. The whole ordeal made me deeply depressed, and I eventually jump from a campus building to end my life. After my death, Gillian successfully got into the grad school I have always wanted to attend through my early admission offer slot. Yet the online harassment continued, targeting my innocent parents too. When I opened my eyes again, I found myself back at the moment Gillian tried to trick me into joining the group order.

Chapter 1
I found myself reborn at the moment Gillian Cook, my roommate, tried to trick me into joining the group order.Gillian was going through my shopping app, looking for something I could buy to help us reach the discount threshold. "You're buying these tissues, right, Hannah? We can do a group order, then! They're usually seven dollars, but with the group order, they'll only cost five dollars! I'll go ahead and place the order for you!"I immediately turned her down. "It's fine. If I run out of tissues, I'll just buy some at the supermarket. I mean, our dorm isn't that big. It's not worth saving a bit of money if it means taking up space."Gillian looked visibly displeased when I refused her outright, but she reined in her temper and continued trying to talk me into the group order.I looked at Gillian and scoffed inwardly. She had always been hot-tempered and would throw a fit whenever things didn't go her way, so her patience this time was practically unheard of. It was ridiculous

Chapter 2
I was dead set against joining the group order, leaving Gillian with no choice but to team up with Sabrina and keep wearing me down. "It's honestly so convenient, Hannah. We'll handle both placing the order and picking up the packages. How does that sound?"I got annoyed by all the badgering and looked over at Sabrina. As far as I could tell, she had nothing against me and was completely oblivious to what Gillian had planned in my past life. She only tried to convince me to join the group order because Gillian asked her to.I had intended to leave her out of this, but she kept pushing herself into it. She might not have been the mastermind, but she was still an accomplice in this whole situation.I turned to Gillian and suggested, "If you're really that desperate to find someone to join your group order, you can ask your best friend right here. It's just a couple of dollars, so you can just get her to buy a few things to hit the discount threshold, Gillian.""Ugh, whatever! We on

Chapter 3
Hearing that I had already called the police, Gillian instantly panicked. She forced herself to stay calm and asked, "Why would you call the police, Hannah? Isn't this humiliating enough for you?""Why should I feel embarrassed? These aren't even mine to begin with. There are so many of them, so this order definitely isn't cheap. "I don't even know if someone entered fake information or if there's actually a student being scammed into buying these adult toys. We're all students here, and our parents work very hard to pay for our tuition. I can't just stand there and watch one of us get ripped off."I took the moral high ground and continued, "It's also such a questionable package. What if someone with bad intentions put hazardous materials inside? It could endanger everyone on campus! Why are you stopping me from calling this in, Gillian? Is there something you're not telling us?"Gillian quickly shook her head. "I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm seeing this for the fi

Chapter 4
Upon hearing that the package might contain something dangerous, the dean and most of the faculty showed up. They didn't dare go near the package, so they could only wait for the police to arrive.I gave the police officers a thorough breakdown of the suspicious package once they arrived. "I didn't buy anything online, and I've already checked with my friends—none of them sent me anything. "I mean, this package popped up out of nowhere, so I'm worried there's something dangerous inside that could put the students at risk."I took out my phone to prove that I knew nothing about the package.Hearing this, the police officers immediately grew cautious and acted swiftly. Everyone held their breath as they waited for the police to inspect the package. They breathed a sigh of relief once the police carefully checked it and confirmed there was no real danger. There was still a possibility that the actual buyer had been scammed, though.Having confirmed that the package wasn't mine,

Chapter 5
By the time Gillian was released, Sabrina had already fallen out with her.Gillian glared at me furiously. "It's all your fault, Hannah! Why did you have to call the police? You've ruined everything I had!""You're finally out, huh? You should save the yelling for later and come to the academic affairs office with me. We still haven't settled the allegations that I violated curfew, Gillian."There had been several serious incidents at the university because students had stayed out overnight, so the academic affairs office placed heavy emphasis on the curfew issue.I took out the recording of Gillian accusing me of staying out overnight and played it for the staff member at the academic affairs office. "I'm at a critical juncture for my early admission offer application for grad school, and these vicious rumors are taking a huge toll on my mental state. I'm completely open to reviewing the surveillance footage to clear my name!""I-I was just making that up! I know you've never s

Chapter 6
I ran into Samuel while I was hailing a cab at the campus entrance with my luggage in hand.He had been trying to get back together with me after the truth came out. He waited outside my dorm for days, just hoping to catch me.I was a bit of a homebody, so I spent most of my time studying in the dorm. I had no choice but to go out that day because I was moving out of the dorm.Samuel was waiting for me the moment I stepped outside. He called out my name hesitantly, looking haggard with dark circles under his eyes. "H-Hannah…"I had nothing to say to him. I knew that it was human nature to protect oneself and avoid trouble, but I wanted someone who would stand firmly by my side no matter what happened. He couldn't do that, so that was the end of it.I simply walked past him and got into the cab. I was going to leave behind anyone who stood in the way of my bright future.A couple of days later, I received a message from Gillian, who claimed she was standing outside the apartment I

Chapter 7
I knew Gillian was ruthless, but I really hadn't expected her to go this far. I learned from the police officers that she had brought several thugs with her and was hiding in the hallway. They planned to lure me out, assault me, and take compromising photos to destroy my reputation. Gillian had no idea that I didn't trust her in the slightest, though. The address she'd spotted on the application form was a fake from day one. I actually stumbled across that place when I was apartment hunting, and the real estate agent mentioned that a local gym had rented it out as a staff dorm for their personal trainers. That gym was pretty scummy, cramming over a dozen men into a single partitioned four-bedroom unit.Gillian's timing was excellent. It just so happened that the gym had a company dinner that day, leaving the apartment empty. If they had been there, those ten or so massive trainers would have probably beaten the hell out of them.Gillian, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. Sh
