Chapter 14: Let It Burn

A SMILE curved the devil’s lips. But I didn’t feel any hostility in that smile.

He just looked amused when he said, “I always knew you were brave, little wolf. It takes an immense courage to reach that part of the tower, to make a deal with me, and to ask me to cut your ties with your mate.” He stood straight and rolled up his sleeves. “So, when do you wish to start the spell?”

I stole his shot glass from the counter and drank the remaining whiskey before saying, “Right now, your grace.”

I bit my lower lip until it bled. I needed to do it to prevent myself from fainting from the pain. It kept getting worse every second. When will Chester stop? Wasn’t he tired yet?

He was an Alpha indeed. His stamina was one of a kind.

“Then one glass will not be enough for you to survive the long night.” He opened another bottle of whiskey and handed it to me. “Take it. You will need the whole damn bottle, trust me.”

Without another word, I took the bottle and drank straight from it.

“Are you ready?”
