LOGINLucy POV
The question "What is it?" His dad enquired. Luca said quietly, "Give me my mother," and Antonio laughed. When his father said, "No," Luca quickly reached for a revolver from his waist and raised it to aim at his father's head. "Old guy, I'm not here to joke around. He said, "I want the girl and my mother or I'll shoot this bullet straight through your skull," and I knew he would follow through on his promise, though I prayed he wouldn't. I was going to murder Antonio. Antonio clenched his teeth and said, "Fine." He picked up his phone and told the person on the other end to bring his mother in, adding that he understood Italian. I was also fluent in Spanish, German, French, and Russian. I had to pick them up. The majority of mafias were based in such areas. After some time, a slender old lady with dark chocolate hair was eventually brought into the room. Her kid caught her dark, Luca-like eyes' attention after they had explored the room. She seemed to want to embrace him since her eyes were beaming with happiness, but instead, she went and stood at his side. Her worried expression obscured her features as her eyes met mine and she scowled in bewilderment. I just returned the gaze. Luca muttered, "Never a pleasure Antonio," and then he took his mother out of the room. I was snatched up and dragged outside by two additional guys who were waiting outside. For the love of God, I could move! When I attempted to accomplish it, my legs gave out. They were already sound asleep. The two guys tugging me made it difficult for me to regain sensation in my legs and move about. I was forced into the vehicle that followed Luca and his mother as they got into a dark automobile. The two guys dodged my gaze as I frowned at them. I sighed softly as the pain in my shackled wrists increased. A card was poking out of the man's pocket in front of me as I stared at him. My mind had thought. I extended my hand and carefully slipped the card out. I was careful to limit my use of it to situations involving potholes or speed pumps. I had finally obtained the card. I placed it near the ropes securing me, and I gradually began cutting the rope with the blunt edge. One of the guys advised, "Turn up the radio," and the other complied. everybody. The time is 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2021. I turned to face the radio. I found it hard to believe. My absence lasted four years. I endured much suffering in the "safe house" for four long years. Now, I was eighteen. I was a grownup. I recalled the times when I craved this period of time. Until I was old enough to feel in charge of my life. How might my future have changed if my father hadn't sold me? I shook my head in an effort to get rid of the inquiries. They hadn't assisted me in the past, and they won't assist me now. I kept attempting to break free of my constraints. It took a while, but eventually, I was able to cut the rope. I carefully observed the two guys in front of me as I worked to unravel the rope. Fate wasn't on my side since we had already reached our objective at that point. A massive house was revealed when metal gates opened inward. I must admit, I was impressed. I saw several houses during my time as Andre Grey's daughter, but this one was a gory fortress. I saw a kennel in the far corner of the complex and guards lurking in the shadows, ready to strike. What kind of nasty canines they keep there is a mystery only the Lord knows. To get to the front of the home, we took the long road that was flanked by well-trimmed shrubs. Before one of the guys slid out of his seat and dragged me out of the vehicle when the cars stopped, I saw Luca get out. To make sure the ropes at my writs were secure, I gripped them tightly. My escape from the ropes allowed me to grasp one of the men's heads and smash it against my raised knee while they held onto my arms and took me up the stairs. Something cracking made such a wonderful sound. I feel as if the other man attempted to strike me and used our combined weight to drag him over my back and down. I turned and attempted to flee as I let him go. That is until my waist was encircled by two powerful arms. My arms were locked in an uncomfortable position behind me as I was dragged toward a firm chest. I fought against being held by my captor, but I didn't cry out in agony. It had become worse. I struggled and kicked as much as I could while being carried up the steps. I adored the inside of the stunning home when we first arrived. There were only bright and dark hues, including various tones of gold, grey, and black. The building smelled like freshly made cookies and fireworks, and the chandeliers gleamed from the rooftops. It's an odd combo. I rolled after being tossed to the ground and then turned to look at my kidnapper. Luca was there. He gave me a dead onyx-eyed stare, yet I could see he was upset. He shouted menacingly, "Non metformin alla prova (Don't test me)," and I realized I had no chance of escaping. Even with three stairs, I wouldn't be able to exit this home. I was imprisoned until I could gather enough knowledge to get out. I brushed off my soiled clothing and rose up. I stood up straight and cast a critical look at Luca. He turned and walked inside. I turned to face his mother, who grinned at me. I gave her a vacant look. As she followed her son, she didn't seem phased. I also concluded that it was better to comply. It seemed like my stay in this home would be exciting. As I followed Luca, I pushed some facial hair out of my face. I wanted to pause and take in the ominous surroundings, but I felt this wasn't the right moment. Two doors made of dark cherry were opened by Luca, and we entered a large space. Flat-screen TVs lined the walls, with seats arranged around a large circular desk in the center. I would have assumed that this was a war room if I hadn't known any better. When Luca touched the smooth, black top of the table's head, it lit up. TV on a table? From when?"We should get going," Luca mumbled and I nodded. I run my hands down my dress and frowned when I reached a weird fold. I pushed my hand against it and it slipped inside. I gasped and did the same on the other side. "It has pockets?" I inquired, completely bewildered. "Of course it does," Luca mumbled and I smiled, leaving my hands in the pockets. I was so going to use these. "We just have to wait for my mother to get picked up for the transport," Luca stated. "When is that?" I asked at the same time the elevator dinged. "Now." I looked ahead to see Maddox walking into the penthouse, dressed in all black, a bullet proof vest around his chest and guns on his hip. He smiled at me. "You look beautiful," he complemented and I gave a stiff smile. "Thanks," I said awkwardly. "So you're transporting Faye?" "Yep, me and some other men." "Nothing too flashy right? It's not going to seem like you're transporting the president?" I asked because that was important. "Yes of course," Mad
Lucy's POV I picked at my nails that had just gotten a fresh French manicure. Faye had helped me with my make up, my eyeshadow was dark to bring out my brown eyes and I had on some nude dark brown lipstick, nothing too bold. My hair was held in a curly bun at the top of my head and my bags fell softly on my forehead, framing my soft features. "Isn't he supposed to give me a dress?" I mumbled mostly to myself, getting ready to leave this room and barge into Luca's for my gown. "Patience darling, you'll get nowhere if you're this rushed," Faye said from her spot on my bed. "I'm not impatient I'm just worried, nervous and very restless," I mumbled. I had no idea what Luca was going to put me in. Leather? Maybe. I'd look sexy in that at least. "My son does things with precision. It can sometimes be off putting-" "Sometimes?" I cut Faye off with a snort but she still continued. "-but... he always pulls through." "Yeah I hope so because I can't stand just sitting here any longer,"
Luca's POV I poured myself a glass of water and chugged it down slowly. I sighed in satisfaction as I set the glass on the table, leaning against the counter. I bowed my head and rolled my shoulders, my body aching from all the fighting and boxing I'd been doing all morning. The past few days hadn't been easy. Finding a dress for Lucy was harder than I thought it would be but I managed to pull it off. I thought of the white box with the light brown ribbon that sat in my room, ready to be delivered. I couldn't stop the worry that slowly seeped its way into my heart. Worry that Lucy wouldn't like the dress I got her. It was much different from what most would wear to such an event, I would know I've been going to them since I was 18 but something urged me to stand firm with the dress. I would love to see how she looked in it. The ding of the elevator sounded in the quiet room and my mother's chatter filled the penthouse. I moved around the counter, leaning against the kitchen door
I sipped on the orange juice that was in the glass beside me. It had been spiked with something and I wasn't telling Faye because she'd throw a fit but after all the things Kaleb had done to me, I think I deserved this little form of pleasure. I placed the glass down outside the large tub Faye and I were relaxing in, the top covered with rose petals while the foam at the top smelt a little like vanilla. Outside the tub were candles that flickered softly and soft music sounded in the air. "I don't think I can move," I commented resting my back on the tub. "I know. I think doing this today was a bad idea," Faye noted and I agreed. I barely had any strength left in my bones that felt like jelly. I sighed, adjusting the bikini I had on. It was plain black unlike Faye's deep blue one. For a woman her age, she was very fit. I fiddled my fingers under the water, gathering the courage to ask Faye a few questions about Luca. Questions I hoped would clear things up. "Faye?" "Yes darling?
"Welcome Lucy, to Pride," Faye cheered as we walked into the large spa and salon. The reception was filled with women of different shapes, sizes, races, and religions, all waiting for something as they softly chatted amongst themselves. Faye pulled us to sit next to two girls who looked a lot like twins, hijabs covering their faces."Luca owns half this company so everything we're going to do is free!" Faye cheered like that was the greatest news she's heard since Target."Luca owns this?" I asked surprised and the older woman nodded."This among many others," she commented and I sat back in my seat, speechless. How rich was he exactly?"So what are we waiting for?" I asked and Faye hummed, looking through her bag, and pulling out a phone."Oh, some lady called Lin. She's the owner basically. Knows Luca. She's the one doing our makeovers today."I nodded at Faye's words as we waited for her to text someone."So... what's our agenda?" I asked Faye."Well first we have chiropractic adju
I was the greatest human being on earth, no questions asked.I sat on my bed, doing nothing basically, dressed in a simple yellow lace sundress that reached mid-thigh. My hair was in a puffy ponytail at the top of my head and my bangs fell leisurely on my forehead.Enough about what was doing and more about me being the greatest human on earth.Faye was downstairs, so was Luca, and I was supposed to be down for me and her to leave for the spa about an hour ago. I was hiding out here because my smart ass had thought of a way of pushing the mother and son together after them being slightly awkward with each other over the past few days. They didn't talk much and as much as I hated to admit it, I hated seeing them so out of sync so this was the only plan I'd come up with last minute. I stood up, twisting on the balls of my feet that were covered with white Jordans, and made my way to the door.I guess I'd been up here long enough. After all, the mafia ball was in just a few hours and I d
