FAZER LOGINAva's POV
“What was that?” I heard Lord Lucian ask, and I instantly snapped back to my senses, I squeezed myself into the wall behind the study as I watched him come out and check around. He looked down the hall way for a while before finally going back inside the study. I let out a breathe I didn’t know I was holding as I slow slid to the ground.
The name Seraphina that I couldn’t stop thinking about all this time belonged to my own mother.
How?
Why?
What’s going on?
Why is her name in the blood-fang archives?
I felt my chest tighten as I struggled to breathe, I gasped for air a few times as I beat my chest to calm myself down. I wiped my face with the back of my trembling fingers as the tears kept rolling down.
“My mother…” I whispered as I rested my head on the wall.
My father never let me know about her, I spent years of my life telling myself she wasn’t important and there was no need chasing a ghost, even Maid Thalia was forbidden to tell me about her.
‘Wait, Maid Thalia!’ I thought as I suddenly remembered the journal she gave me.
“Here, I want you to have this” she said as she handed me a washed out book.
“What is this?” I asked as I took it from her.
“Your mothers journal, only open it when the time is right” she said as she smiled at me.
“How am I suppose to know when the time is right?” I asked her but before she could reply the guard from before burst into the room as he grabbed me by the arm.
“She never really got to tell me when to open it back then” I said to myself as a small smile formed at my lips. Maybe now is the time.
I took in a deep breath as I wiped my tear stained cheeks and slowly stood up from the ground. Is this the right time to open the journal? I thought as I walked out of Alpha Alaric’s quarters.
The walk back to the servant quarters was longer than I expected. My mind kept spinning in circles about what Alpha Alaric said.
Seraphina was my mother.
I ran my hands through my hair as I shook the thought out of my mind, I need answers. What did she have to do with the blood fang tribe to end up in the archives? I asked myself as I finally got to the servant quarters.
I stared at the door for what felt like a minute before I finally mustered up the courage to open it. My fingers gripped the cold metal knob as I twisted it open, the room was quiet when I stepped inside, our belongings neatly tucked into the corner of the far end of the room.
I took in a deep breath as I approached the only item that was mine. Hidden under the pile of Tina’s books was my journal, I lifted it up from the pile as I held it in my arms.
My mothers journal, What secrets does it hold? Can I really find answers in it? My fingers trailed on the rough edges of the journal as I gulped hard and opened the first page.
The first words in the old yellow stained page instantly drew my attention.
‘My dear child,….. if you are reading this right now it means I’m already dead and I have failed you, and the secrets I buried with me can no longer stay hidden’………..
Hi guys❤️ This chapter is going to be very short because it’s about Ava having a mental breakdown about everything she has been going through from the beginning so let’s get to it💕💕
Ava’s POVI sat at the edge of the oak tree with Lyra, Elina and Tina as we shaded ourselves from the blazing sun. The three of them were having a conversation about something but I didn’t bother listening in, and focused my attention on the book beta Kieran gave me.Ever since our conversation, I couldn’t stop thinking about what he said.‘I don’t think your arrival in the Blood-Fang clan was by accident’What did he mean by that? I wondered as I traced my fingers across the book. The cover was worn and old with strange markings carved into the corner, I took a deep breath in as I opened the first page. The pages were filled with handwriting I couldn’t understand. Some of the words were written in an unfamiliar language, while others had faded so badly that I could barely make them out.I turned to another page and it was the same thing. I groaned in frustration then Elina tapped me.“Are you okay?”“I’m fine, it’s just….this book beta Kieran gave me, I can’t decipher it” I said as
Alaric's POVI stared blankly at the papers scattered all over my desk but my mind was no where near them, it kept drifting back to what happened in the courtyard. To Ava, that howl. What is happening to her? And why now?“She’s different” my wolf Dax, echoed in my head and I rolled my eyes.“She’s a servant” I spat back.“A servant who has kept you up thinking about her” he fired back and I deadpanned.“I’m not thinking about her, I’m thinking about the changes surrounding her”“Keep telling yourself that, but you know the truth” he said and I scoffed. “You felt it when you touched her” he added and I instantly remembered how Ava clutched her arm in pain after I touched her that day.“That was nothing” I shrugged.“Then why did you care about her when she howled, you know she’s not human,” he paused for a while before he continued again “She might just be…….A knock on the door snapped me out of my thoughts as I let out a relieved sigh, finally he shut up.“Come in” I said as I strai
Ava’s POV I slowly opened my eyes, as a numb feeling settled at the side of my head. I groaned a bit as I squinted my eyes and noticed my surroundings. I immediately sat up as I looked at the unfamiliar surroundings.‘Where am l?’ I wondered to myself as the sound of water running from the bathroom filled the room.I slowly got up from bed as I tried to tiptoe towards the door to escape, but all of a sudden, the water stopped running. I couldn’t think straight on what to do next, so I jumped back into the bed and pulled the covers over me.I could hear footsteps walking closer towards me until they stopped directly at the foot of the bed.“I know you’re awake Ava,” Alpha Alaric’s cold voice said and I sighed. I slowly removed the covers from my head as we locked eyes, his striking brown eyes instantly captivating me like it always did, but then he cleared his throat and I snapped out of it as I looked down.“Yes, Alpha” His hands moved to touch me but he stopped mid air and he quick

Ava's POV“I knew you did come here Ava, earlier than I expected tho” a familiar voice said behind me and I gulped hard as I slowly turned to face him.“Lord Lucian, it’s not what it looks like?” I said immediately as I put my hands in the air and he scoffed.“Really?” He asked as he leaned back on the chair, “What does it look like then?” He added as his eyes trailed over me and I gulped.“I….I saw the door wasn’t closed, so I came to close it” I said as I stared at him and a chuckle escaped his lips.“If you came to close the door, why did you come inside?” he asked with a raised brow and I instinctively gripped the hem of my dress as I bit down on my lower lip.“Be….because” I stammered as I stared at him.He stood up from the chair as he walked towards me, the more I walked backwards the more he closed the space between us until my back touched the door.“Ava Blackwood” he said, as he lifted my chin with two fingers, forcing me to meet his gaze.“Yes, Lord Lucian?” I asked back a
