Chapter 27- Confined

Mia’s Pov

I felt warm liquid trickle down my cheeks causing my eyes to flicker open. Had I been crying in my sleep? I sat upright as I wiped tears off of my cheeks blinking a few times to adjust my vision which seemed a bit blur. I slowly got down from the bed as I stretched yawning in weary.

The occurrence of the previous day flashed in my head, I must have been overthinking about him for me to cry in my sleep. I slowly walked to the oval-shaped mirror that was fixed to the wall staring at myself. I must have done something wrong.

He must have hated something about me for him to switch to his other side. The worse part of it is, I don’t remember anything I said nor did that could have gotten into him. I placed my right hand on my left cheek staring intensely at myself.

Had I became ugly?

Was my presence begun to annoy him? Or did my face make him suffocated? I touched the blue crescent mark he made on my neck. Why then did he mark me? Was it just to tame me?
