Morwenna’s POV

Blood still clung to my lips, metallic and sour, as if the night itself had crawled inside me and refused to leave. My chest rose too fast, ragged breaths scraping my throat raw. I pressed my palm to the dirt, steadying myself, but the ground pulsed. Not just earth—something alive, swollen with celestial poison. It beat beneath me like a second heart, mocking mine.

I wanted to scream, but the sound stuck.

“Morwenna,” his voice came. Not Leofric’s. Not anymore.

He stood at the torn edge of the forest, half-light bathing him in cruel silver. His eyes—those eyes that had once looked at me like I was the only thing worth saving—now burned with some other fire. Too bright. Too strange.

“You should not have followed me,” he said, though his mouth twitched like he almost wanted me near.

My legs betrayed me. They moved toward him even as my mind begged them not to. “You think you can tell me where I belong?” I spat, though my lips trembled. “I clawed through death to get here.

  • Sold to the Lycan King   Chapter 133

Morwenna’s POVBlood clung to my wrists like shackles. Not fresh. Dried, cracking, the kind that turns brown and stiff, yet I still smelled iron with every breath. I couldn’t wash it off—not from my skin, not from my thoughts. The Bone Seer’s voice still slithered in my skull, whispering truths and lies in the same breath, as if both tasted the same to him. My belly ached with its secret—the child, the voice that had spoken through me in front of them all. I hated how my knees had gone weak when I heard it, how I had felt split wide open between horror and awe.I pressed a palm against my stomach. Skin too hot, feverish. Not just mine anymore. Something inside me hummed like a second heartbeat, an echo of a rhythm I hadn’t chosen. Leofric should have been here. His name beat at my teeth, but the world had stolen him, fractured him into another realm. I didn’t even know if he was alive—or if the thing that would crawl back wearing his face would still be him.The sky above bled with st

  • Sold to the Lycan King   Chapter 132

Morwenna’s POVI didn’t want to open my eyes because I already knew what waited for me. Blood in the air. The iron taste on my tongue. The silence that isn’t silence at all, because beneath it something hums, like a bone flute pressed against the walls of my skull. But I opened them anyway, because fear is useless when you’re already trapped. The sky above me had cracked. Not broken like glass, not ripped like cloth, but bent inward as though the heavens themselves had leaned too close. A long pale wound ran across the clouds, leaking light that didn’t belong to this world. It made the trees ache. The ground throbbed. Even my breath felt borrowed.I rose, every joint stiff, skin sticky with dried sweat. My belly pulsed once. Not hunger. Not pain. The child. It had been quiet for hours, maybe longer, but now it rolled against my ribs like it wanted to claw its way free.“Not yet,” I whispered, touching the curve of my stomach. “I’m not ready. You’re not ready.”The laugh that answered

  • Sold to the Lycan King   Chapter 131

Morwenna’s POVBlood shimmered on the horizon like the sky itself had been cut open. My throat burned from the air, thick with smoke and something fouler—like iron boiled in rot. I couldn’t breathe without tasting it. My child stirred in my belly, not gentle, but with a violent twitch that stole my breath. Too strong for what should still be so small. Too knowing.I pressed both hands over the swell, whispering for silence, for mercy. But silence had abandoned this land long ago. Only screams lived here now, buried beneath the rumble of collapsing towers and the howl of creatures born from fractured reality.I had lost Leofric again. One heartbeat he was there, torn but alive, his hand clinging to mine. The next, light swallowed him whole, light that did not warm but stripped. A rift in the air like the world had exhaled wrong. And he was gone. I should have followed. I tried. But the ground broke beneath me, spitting me into a wasteland of bleeding shadows and broken stars.Every ste

  • Sold to the Lycan King   Chapter 130

Morwenna’s POVAsh clung to my tongue like burnt copper as I forced myself upright, my lungs tearing with every ragged breath. The ground beneath me pulsed—not earth anymore, but something living, something wrong. It throbbed against my palms like the veins of a dying beast. My body screamed to collapse again, but I wouldn’t let it. Not with him watching.Leofric.Or what remained of him.He stood in the haze like a stranger stitched from shadows, his face still his, but altered—eyes burning with silver fire, jaw too sharp, movements too precise, like a puppet pulled on divine strings. I wanted to run to him, bury my face against his chest, smell the warmth of him that I’d memorized in every stolen night. But even from here I could feel it—the absence. The cold. He wasn’t mine anymore.“Morwenna.” His voice was a low thunder, and it cut through me. I should have collapsed from relief at hearing it again, but instead, bile rose in my throat. Because the way he said my name… it wasn’t h

  • Sold to the Lycan King   Chapter 129

Leofric’s POVI woke to the stink of ash on my tongue. My body was wrong. Heavy, as though the bones inside me didn’t belong to me anymore. The air buzzed like it had teeth, biting at my skin. I dragged myself upright and nearly split in half from the pain lancing through my chest. Something in me had been cracked open. Something that didn’t want to close.Yara’s voice was the first thing that tethered me back. Not her touch—her voice. Thin, trembling, raw with a fear she tried to hide.“You shouldn’t have followed me here.”I turned my head. She was standing where the altar once was, hands smeared in red, her hair tangled like brambles. And beside her—the Bone Seer. His robes hung in tatters, his face shadowed except for the gleam of his teeth, too many of them, like some beast had borrowed his jaw.“I told you to stay dead,” he hissed at me, but his eyes clung to Yara like she was the wound he could never stop pressing. My pulse kicked against my ribs. Not fear—rage. A rage I didn’t
