Mirabelle's mother spoke in a gentle tone, "Mirabelle, I know it's not easy, but you have to find it in your heartto forgive Ray."

Mirabelle reluctantly replied, "I'll try."

A few days later, Ray and Mirabelle had a conversation. "I'm sorry for everything I put you through," Ray said sincerely. "I understand if you can't forgiveme, but I hope one day you can."

Mirabelle took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to respond, "I forgive you, Ray."

Ray looked both surprised and relieved, "Thank you, Mirabelle."

The tension between them dissipated, and the family was finally able to fully reunite. Steve could see the joy on their faces and he joined in for a family hug.

"I'm so happy you guys are back together," Steve said, tears streaming down his face.
