A peasant wishes to exchange shoes with her master quite predictable. A splash of cold water woke me. Fucks! What with this cold water! Realization hit me from the clothing and the putrid smell of kitchen cutlery and a mountain of dishes. What a great day! One day I was a princess and now I'm a peasant who has a lot of chores to do. I looked at my hands and to my surprise, I have the body of a young servant I thought I'll end up in an old woman's body. Wait this face is familiar! I gasped out of surprise.

"Rosann what is happening to you child?" the older servant asked me, a concerned voice is written on her face.

"Rosann is my name then." I smiled and the woman eyed me puzzled. I was not able to get through her memories to even get her name the very first thing that I saw was her desire to change her life. She wanted to be her master. This child is exceptionally intelligent but too bad she was sold by her family.

"Oh, my child you must be very tired from your chores. Come on in let's have our brunch." the older woman smiled and held me gently. I felt the young girl's excitement towards food. Avant's servants are not treated well. They are overly working and the food for them is limited! Fucks! They are still human too how can these people treat them like total slaves!

“My child why is your face so sullen?”

"I just can't believe we have to eat this shit. You guys have been working…I mean we have been working very hard to serve them but they treated us like so ill. This is inhumane!" I angrily spat which makes the older woman gasp in horror.

"Rosann how can you speak like that? We are eating the same food each day? So, what are you whining about?" my heartbreak even more. They have been eating a piece of bread every day. How can Avant allow this? that woman!

“One of these days I promise you. We will no longer eat these shits.” the lady chuckled and proceed to her chores.

The chores of this household are one hell tiring. Upper-class people are really living in luxury. I pitied this child she is just sixteen instead of engaging herself in education and enjoying her teenage life she is here working 24/7 how can her family be this cruel. And to think that one of the Duke's men is eyeing her. These guys are thinking lewd on her body.

"Do my hair servant!" The duke's new spouse ordered me to do her hair. She did not even say please. This bitch. An evil thought popped into my head. I smirk and do her hair.

“Let's see how far you'll go with your bitchiness." I whispered.

"What is it, servant?"

“Nothing my lady. Is there anything else that you would like me to attend?” I answered politely but I’m trying to suppress my laugh.

"I'll just call you. You can now get out of my sight. I don't want this room to get filthy." she eyed me up and down like I'm a piece of trash to her. I made my way to the door. Thinking how can I save this child's life. And how the fuck I'll be able to find her. That is my priority here but it turns out I have to help every entity I'll wake up to. I heard a loud scream from the duke's spouse I laughed out loud. Oh, what did I put o her hair?

“You servant you did this to me. You will be punished for this” She said angrily.

“My Lady I am innocent. I did nothing but to fixed your hair.” I make my voice sound pleading.

“Guards throw this servant and lock her up. Make sure nobody will give her food and water until I say so!” fucks what an impulsive act. The guards drag me they even yelled at me like I was some kind of animal.

“You dimwits open this door. I’ll kill you once I get out. Fucks!” I screamed and tried banging the steel door.

"Just great!" how can I help this child now I sighed and sat on the floor. The room is cold and there is only a torch that lit the place. I heard someone who coughed heavily from the other cell.

“Hey is anyone out there?” my voice echoed but the other person just laughed, weirdo.

"You sure you want to kill the child?" I was terrified to see an older woman. She will pass for a witch role in cinema.

"They are all cruel though. I think they deserve to die," she added.

“How long have you been here?” I asked her

"Long enough to endure every pain and all the abuse." there is no hint of emotion in her eyes.

“Aren’t you not planning to escape here?”

"That was before but I think I have an ally now." she laughed again. She has gone crazy I think and obviously, it was me she wanted to be her ally. As if a woman. I heard footsteps coming and I hid in the dark. I listened to the voices I suppressed my anger and stayed silent. I heard the woman's cry and pleading the guards to stop abusing her. Tears stung my eyes. I feel so sorry for the woman. I will surely kill these bastards. I decided to make a move I was once a high-paid assassin in Russia I have adopted Troy's skills when it comes to defense and killing people. The only thing that I hated about that guy is his addiction to drugs and women. Funny how I sent his body into rehab and donated all his money to charity.

"Hey bastards I'm here," I screamed to get their attention. Two guards arrived earlier and one followed. Three bulky men and a sixteen-year-old body who only have a kitchen knife.

“This one is younger. Come on child we could be your playmates.” the other guard eyed me lustfully.

"Sure, let's play hide and seek if you find me I'm all yours. What you think huh big guy?"

“That sounds fun child.” he unlocked my cell and I went my way to run.

“Run. Run. Run. Make sure you will hide” they chanted and laugh.

Good thing it is so dark out here and I was still in my consciousness when they dragged me here. The photographic memory of Rosann is commendable. I gasped when I accidentally shove the metal bars and it created a loud noise for sure they are now looking for me in seconds the footsteps are emerging. I hide my body in the pile of dried barn.

"Come on young lady. I know where you are." the man started to check the empty vessels. Good thing I did not hide in there. There are three more before he could check this barn. I held my knife. Footsteps are nearby. one vessel down. Followed by the other his laugh echoed.

"You ready young servant?"

That's the cue I stand up from the dried barn the man was not able to utter a single word when I cut his throat. I make sure to do it five times to shred his carotid artery. The man fell to the ground with his body convulsing. I sliced his mouth wider so the dried leaves could fit. I stole his weapon and went to find the other two.

"You could have killed them long ago woman," I said as I watched the woman knocking the head of the other guard with a brick. Damn

"Go to hell, you bastard. This is for killing the other girls out here." the eyes popped out it hit my face.

“It’s enough we have to go. I got the key.”

We are about to open the door when the last one standing bastard shove his knife to me but the older woman took it for me and she tried to throw bricks but it missed out the target. She was stabbed in the abdomen and blood is even dripping on her mouth. I went to strangle the man with a belt I got from the other guards. I take my knife with me and stab his neck blood ooze out to my satisfaction I stab it deeper and deeper these bastards took the lives and innocence of every woman that was sent here. They are left here without proper jurisdiction. How inhumane.

"Their souls will rest in peace now," I said one last time before I pull my knife.

“Come on woman we have to go. Others will be suspicious now.”

"Thank you... for helping us. You go now. I will not make it I'm losing too much blood right now." the woman cough blood and gave me a satchel.

"Take this with you child. the garden has a passage outside make sure you will make it." the woman held my face and slowly she closed her eyes. I kissed her forehead and whispered a prayer for her.

“You sleep in peace woman. Rosann owed you, her freedom.” I said and left the place.

The garden indeed has a secret door. I wonder how come the lady knew about it. I think she is not just a servant who was sent there for punishment. I hurriedly went outside the lay who treated Rosann as her own saw me before I could run.

"Rosann oh my child. What happened to you?" she cried and maybe terrified to see me with bloodstains. She gave me her shawl and I put it on me while I was explaining what happened in the dungeon.

"You can come with me. Let's go there is no time." I pleaded.

"Dear go to this place it's the place I grew up. Start anew no one will question you just say that you are my niece," she said and handed me a piece of paper. The woman gave me a satchel full of gold and money. Rosann you are one lucky child.

"I'll be there before you know it, child. My time is near to be terminated because of my old age." she smiled warmly and pat my head. I started to make my way and never look back.

I let Rosann take her body back. All along it was freedom that she wanted. The idea to exchange shoes with her master is just one of her childish dreams. She wanted to start her life free from the hand of cruelty and the eyes of the wicked. Soar high child a great future is waiting ahead of you. I smiled at her before I slumber again in the dark.

Om kreem-kalikayi-namaha I used to wonder what this phrase is all about, but never I have looked for its meaning or some sort of explanation in the encyclopedia or even on the internet. Not until that day that she left. Leaving me with a damn paper with her metaphors and heart-wrenching poetry. She never told me about the reason but an intellectual human being can already figure out the answers to those questions, She doesn't want me to be tied to a blurry future with her. The phrase means Salutations to the divine kali, she's the Goddess of rebirth in Hindu, and she grants wishes if you're deserving of them. I asked myself oftentimes if I am really deserving of what the universe can offer? Katherine was the meaning of life, for me. Then she left, and everything starts to look dull and ugly. "The papers are at your desk hun," my co-worker tapped my shoulder as she went to close the door, I uttered thanks in a small voice, and silence eloped the room. the silence that I am comfor

Katherine's skilled fingers manipulate each key, She's getting weak each day, and day by day it kills me to see her in pain. If only I can take it all, I would. The melody coming from it tells me how she has been. I stare at her savoring each melodious tone while she closes her eyes, playing gracefully with her head sways as the song continues to dominate the whole living room at first it is all calm and peaceful giving me a picture of a little girl running around full of smiles and giggles having a carefree soul, a little girl full of hopes and sun rays radiating her as she continues to pass it through with the people around her, a picture of a lovely face as she grew up to be more beautiful with her hair so soft as silk, her almond eyes will bore and roamed around leaving everyone in awe. Her fair skin turns pinkish each time it was hit by sunlight her wings are beautifully hanging down to her back she is ready to soar high. But as it went further her fingers went more aggressive c
