Aarya
Phew! After enduring a grueling 20-hour flight, I finally touched down at the airport. The exhaustion weighed heavily on my back, reminding me that such long flights weren't friendly to one's back. Anxiety bubbled within me, but I wore a mask of composure, remembering the adage, "fake it till you make it," that echoed through my mind. Stepping out of the plane into the frigid weather, I was grateful for having the foresight to wear a jacket.
Amidst the hustle of finishing immigration formalities and retrieving my bags, I found a moment of quiet reflection. Standing there, waiting for my cab I felt conflicted. Hauling my bags out, I spotted my Uber and embarked on the beginning of my adventure in this foreign land. As I navigated the unfamiliar city, crowds of strangers rushed around me, a stark contrast to the quaint village I had left behind. Tears welled in my eyes as I thought of my family and the life I had known.
Summoning a deep breath, I decided to video call my parents. Despite the late hour in India, I needed to hear their voices to quell the nervousness building within me. My father answered after just two rings, and I couldn't help but grin. It was evident he had been eagerly anticipating my call. During the ride to my new abode, I spoke with them, occasionally showing them glimpses of the view from the cab window.
Finally arriving at the address, I maneuvered my luggage out of the car, ready to embrace this new country, city, and life. As I entered my dorm room, I was met with an unexpected sight: a rather intense make-out session in progress. Flustered and caught off guard, I instinctively turned around, my cheeks aflame with embarrassment.
My cheeks flushed, and I quickly averted my gaze and said, "Ahh, I am so sorry. I did.. didn't know."
Amused chuckles followed my hasty exit. "Hey, no worries! You must be Aarya," a lively voice addressed me. Turning around, I faced them, " Hey I am your new roommate. How are you? How was your flight? Do—"
I had to stifle a chuckle at her rapid-fire questions. "Relax, Lea," a male voice interjected. "You're speaking too fast for her to respond. Hey, my name is Steven, and I'm Lea's… ma.. well, uh, boyfriend," he said, waving a greeting.
I greeted him in return. "Hello, Steven. My name is Aarya. It's great to meet you. And I apologize for entering without knocking earlier."
Steven chuckled and kissed Lea on the cheek. “This is your room as well. There’s no need to be sorry. Anyway, I’ll let you get comfortable. Nice to meet you, Aarya. I’ll see you later, babe. I love you.”
A familiar warmth spread across my cheeks as I glanced away. "I love you too. Bye," Lea's words lingered in the air, an intimate moment shared.
With Steven gone, Lea turned her attention back to me. "So, Aarya, let's make you comfortable. Are you hungry? I'm absolutely famished."
A shared laugh accompanied the dragging of my luggage, and I found myself liking Lea immediately. "I could definitely eat," I responded, grateful for her welcoming demeanor.
Left alone with Lea, she wasted no time in making me feel comfortable. After some laughter and conversation, we devoured pizza, sharing stories and learning about each other. Strangely, I felt a sense of ease around her like I had known her for ages, a desire to trust and protect her. There was an unspoken connection, a sense of ease that resonated between us. It surprised me how naturally our camaraderie was developing when I hardly have any friends in my village.
As the sun rose on a new day, I was roused from slumber by Lea's enthusiastic energy. However, my response was far from elegant. Instead of awakening gracefully, a pillow met Lea's face as a result of an unintended pillow fight. Laughter erupted, and we quickly readied ourselves for the day ahead. Stepping out onto the sprawling campus, a blend of excitement and nervousness coursed through us, uniting us in laughter.
I gawked at the campus and college building. I have seen many pictures but nothing beats the real deal. Many students looked busy running around. We looked at each other a bit nervous.
Amid our shared excitement and nervousness, Lea offered comforting words. "Don't worry, Aarya. Everything will be alright. Let's head to the admissions office and sort out our schedules. Fingers crossed, we'll have some classes together."
Arriving at the admissions office, we were greeted by the kind smile of a sweet old lady. “Excuse me, are you Mrs. Denis?” I inquired.
“Yes, dear,” she said with a grin. “How may I help you?”
“I’m Aarya Verma, and this is Lea Port; may we please have our schedules?” I inquire. Mrs. Denis handed us our schedules and said, “Sure, take this.”
Armed with these schedules and brimming with hope, we navigated the labyrinthine corridors, eager to locate our first classes. The students rushed towards the class with nervous eyes and awkward smiles. Settling into our seats for one of our shared classes we waited for it to start.
The lecturer addressed us. “Hello, my name is Landon Page, and I’m your lecturer. For a few days, we assigned all the new students to a senior student as their guide. On this list, I mentioned your partner. Please double-check this before leaving the class. Near the lab, all the seniors will wait for their partners.”
The ensuing 45 minutes of class felt interminable as we anxiously awaited its conclusion. Once the class finally ended, a wave of excitement swept through the room as students began searching for their assigned senior partners. Amid the buzz, Lea couldn't contain her elation. "Guess who's my senior partner!" Her voice carried across the room, brimming with excitement.
Suppressing a laugh, I urged her to lower her voice. "Calm down, Lea. Who is it?"
With a grin that threatened to light up the room, she exclaimed, "Steven!!!! OMG, I'm so excited!" Her dance of joy was infectious.
Chuckling, I responded, "Well, you lucked out there! And who's mine?"
"Your senior partner is Nyx Coleman. I recently met her. She's friends with Steven, and don't worry, she's pretty cool," Lea assured me. "Come on, let's go meet them."
Joining in Lea's excitement, I followed her towards Steven. Lea enthusiastically greeted Steven, hugging him tightly she buried her head in his neck. I looked anywhere except for them it's so weird. After she was done kissing Steven Lea turned her attention to me. "Aarya, this is Nyx."
My eyes turned to Nyx, Steven's friend and now my senior partner. Her striking appearance, with red hair and blue eyes, was reminiscent of Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones.
"Hiya, my name is Nyx. It's a pleasure to meet you," she greeted me, her voice infused with genuine warmth. Her easy confidence made me feel welcomed.
With a light-hearted tease, she added, "Let me show you around campus while these two lovebirds sully the nearby janitor's closet." As Nyx walked ahead, I followed, feeling both grateful and slightly taken aback by the openness and camaraderie of these new friends I had just met. These people are way too okay with this kind of talks.

Xander (A few days later)... The fluorescent lights above my desk cast a sterile glow on the clutter of paperwork that had taken over my workspace. The international expansion of our business had unleashed a relentless surge of tasks and responsibilities. With the addition of numerous personal and pack-owned ventures, my days had transformed into a chaotic whirlwind of decision-making and strategic planning with no time for a breath. I sighed and pressed my fingers against my temples, feeling the beginnings of a tension headache. The plush leather chair in my CMH Industries office did not help with the kinks in my brain. As I contemplated the growing stack of documents, my office door swung open with a nonchalant disregard for privacy. “When are you people going to learn to knock? I thought we covered all of that at Alpha Academy!” I couldn’t help but quip, a blend of exasperation and affection in my voice. Alex, my best friend and the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack entered with his
Aarya Time had flown by, and I had already spent over a month in the United States. Adjusting to a new educational system and way of life was quite the challenge, but having Steven, Lea, and Nyx by my side had made it a lot easier. They had become my pillars of support, helping me cope with the homesickness and the cultural differences. When the festival of Diwali arrived, homesickness struck me hard. In response, the trio of my newfound friends took me to a nearby Indian restaurant. The food might not have matched my mother’s culinary magic, but the taste still carried a slice of home. Following dinner, we embarked on a leisurely drive in Steven’s car, culminating in a night spent by the beach. It was in those moments that I realized they had evolved into more than just friends; they were my chosen family, my confidants, and the people I instinctively trusted. Presently, I found myself sitting through one of my less engaging classes, my mind wandering through the events that had un
Xander The meeting had stretched on for what felt like an eternity. My patience was wearing thin, and from the sounds of it, my wolf Xyler felt the same. ‘This meeting either needs to end or get way more interesting,‘ Xyler’s voice echoed in my mind, mirroring my sentiments. I couldn’t help but agree wholeheartedly. ‘I know Chris has to shut up or I will punch him in the face,’ I replied to Xyler, my frustration evident. Xyler’s chuckle in response resonated with my own thoughts, and he asked for a good run after we got back home. He retreated back into my mind, leaving me alone in this torture. Lucky wolf. I re-centered my focus on Chris, whose voice seemed to drone on endlessly. Just shut up, man. How much more can a person talk? The discussion continued to drag on for what felt like another hour, testing my patience to its limits. Finally, I decided it was time to bring this to a end. “Let’s take a break and end this for today, Chris, and reconvene in a few weeks. It’s been qui
Aarya The anticipation and nervousness in the air were palpable as I stood in Lea’s room, facing a fashion dilemma that was just not my cup of tea. “There’s no way I’m wearing that. It’s freaking cold outside. If I wear that, I’m almost certain to die from hypothermia,” I protested, wrinkling my nose at the red short dress that Lea was enthusiastically holding up. Lea’s patience seemed to wear thin as she snapped, “Ahh... You’re a pain to deal with. I’ve shown you around 20 outfits, and you don’t seem to like any of them. Get your ass up and look for yourself.” With a sigh that seemed to carry my resignation, I mumbled, “Fine,” and turned my attention to the vast expanse of Lea’s wardrobe. The sheer volume of clothes before me was enough to make my own modest closet feel like a mere cubby. I sifted through a few outfits, feeling increasingly like a fish out of water in this world of fashion. Amidst the array of colors and styles, a black dress caught my attention. Its elegance and
Xander“Please tell me you’re joking, right?” My voice carried a mix of disbelief and frustration as I turned to Nyx, hoping that her words were some sort of twisted prank.“What? Look, Xander, none of us have an idea about this!” Nyx’s tone was a blend of exasperation and attempted reason as she gestured vaguely toward the hallway where the entire scene had unfolded. My agitation was palpable, my protective instincts roaring to life at the thought of my newly discovered mate venturing out to a bar. “I don’t want MY MATE to leave me as soon as I discover her, especially at a bar where men might ogle at her. No way, no how, not a chance in hell,” I asserted, my Alpha tone carrying a finality that brooked no argument. Xyler, my wolf, flashed in my eyes and growled his agreement at the mere thought of other men casting their eyes on my mate.Nyx, in her usual mischievous demeanor, offered an alternative solution with a knowing smirk. “So come to the club with us! This is a fantastic way t
AaryaThe night was filled with animated conversations and laughter as Xander and I shared stories and anecdotes. After a few initial moments of awkwardness, it was remarkable how quickly a sense of comfort had developed between us, making it feel like we had known each other far longer than just a few hours.“Oh, come on, it can’t be true!” Xander snorted at one of my stories, his eyes dancing with amusement. We laughed so hard that our outbursts drew the attention of those around us. “Oh, it’s true. Atul had silver teeth for almost a week after that. That Holi was one of my best.” I gave him a smug grin.Xander raised an eyebrow, a mixture of curiosity and disbelief on his face. “How many days were you grounded for after that?”My smirk matched his curiosity. “Ah, I just gave my parents my cute puppy dog eyes, and viola, no punishment.”His grin was infectious. “You’re an evil genius,” he chuckled, taking a sip of his bourbon.“I know,” I responded with mock arrogance, flipping my ha
XanderUgh! I need to regain focus. The work demands my attention, but it’s proven to be more challenging than I anticipated. It’s been two agonizing days since I last laid eyes on Aarya, my mate. Just mentioning her name is enough to send shivers coursing down my spine. Xyler, my wolf, shares in this restlessness. He’s been uncharacteristically quiet ever since we returned from dropping Aarya off at her dorm. He’s yearning for his mate, and I can feel him pining deep within me. In my head, he whines softly and retreats into hiding. I feel you, buddy. I groan in frustration. The peacefulness of the moment is shattered by the entrance of Alex and Sean.“Hello there, Xandy. How are you doing?” Grinning, Alex inquired.I rub my temples, muttering curses under my breath. “What do you want, Alex? Now is not the time for your antics.”“Oh, come on, I just wanted to chat with my buddy,” he teases.I turn to face Sean. “What is it, Sean? I don’t have the patience or energy for Alex’s shenaniga
Aarya “Wow! It’s exquisite!” I marveled at the stunning neck tattoo that adorned my best friend Lea’s skin. My fingers traced the lines of the intricate design as I asked her, “I want one too, but I’m such a wimp thinking about the pain. Did it hurt?” Nestled at the base of her neck, where the curve of her neck met her shoulder, was a beautifully detailed wolf outline tattoo. Centered below the tattoo were Steven’s initials, forming a meaningful and artistic representation of their connection. It looked truly amazing. A cheeky smile spread across her face." At first, it was a touch painful, but after some time I was cool with it. In fact, I was more than cool." “Hmm, that’s good to know,” I chuckled, wiggling my eyebrows. “So, spill the beans. Why have you been grinning like a Cheshire cat since last night?” Lea’s cheeks flushed as she attempted to hide her face, her smile peeking through. “Um...” I grinned “Gurl! Come on! Tell me! What is happening to you? I have never seen you
