The small comments were going to happen throughout the night. Micha was growing more hostile with everyone of them though by the end of the night. They were not directed toward him but slipped into small talk that he was overhearing. He had thought he knew these people and now he was finding he had no idea who they really were.
Women would throw themselves at him. They didn’t care if it was painfully obvious that he wasn’t remotely looking for a bed partner or a distraction. It seemed the filter he had placed over his eyes to live in the city was falling off. Piece by piece he was caving into a new form of a man. The kind of man that would do anything to protect one small woman. He could feel every comment make his blood boil more.
It wasn’t until he looked around and saw his family watching him with dif
“Micha they are already trying to come at me,” Sophia said as she looked up at his face. She had a look of slight fear in her eyes. Like the idea of sharing time with him was putting her in danger. She was at peace though with the cow and be herself.“Cowgirl they will but that doesn’t mean a thing,” Micha said. “Nothing is going to happen to ya here I promise that.”Micha moved her to his side. She was intent on looking over the cow though. She ran her hands over the animal again and Micha watched. She was a natural with animals. That was not a learned trait it was just a part of her. He was watching every movement she made. She was talking to the animal as she moved over the flanks. “You’re a good girl. I think a few more days and then you should have your calf.”
As Sophia moved as Micha’s eyes raked over her he had to stop her from moving. He looked in her eyes and saw that she was slightly scared but he had no idea why. They had already had sex in the barn. He had seen her mostly naked before. As she tried to hide herself and cover her chest he knew something was there that he didn’t know.“Cowgirl, what is it?” He asked softly as he pulled her closer.“Nothing Micha.” She said as she tried to pull away.“What is it really, Sophia?” He asked not letting her go. “Do you think you aren’t pleasing to the eye? I assure you that you are.”“Micha.” She said softly.
Micha was dead asleep when he heard some noise on the first floor. He didn’t want to get out of the warm bed with Sophia curled around him. He didn’t realize them that he had missed this. The feeling of a warm body next to him completely relaxed with the sedation from a wild bout of sex. With Sophia was different though. He never felt this relaxed, This unwilling to leave the bed feeling. The noise was growing though and he rolled out of the bed and reached into his suitcase and pulled a pair of sleep pants out and slipped into them. He walked to the top of the stairs and stood as he heard the opening and closing of doors on the first floor. He wondered what the hell was going on. His mind was still half asleep. He walked down the stairs not hiding his annoyment in being woken up in the middle of the night.
When the two woke up again it was still dark but morning. They knew to make sure Micha’s new plan for the people who worked for him they had to be ready and willing to do anything for the day. Neither of them cared to much about that. “I am finding that I don’t wish to get out of bed this morning,” Micha said into her ear as he just moved his arm to keep her pressed closed to him.“But you see cowboy it is something you have to do. I mean you can’t keep me here all day in bed when we got people to show a lesson too.” Sophia said as she smiled to him over her shoulder. He chuckled at her very sorry copy of his accent but it was worth hearing on an
Sophia went to the stables which was a place that no matter where you went or on any farm or ranch was always the same. The layout might be slightly different but the day to day activities in it was the same. Sophia knew exactly what to do without being told where anything was. She smiled to herself and then began collecting the buckets from the stalls and then filling them up with either water or feed. She could see the ones that they had the more specialized diets for and though she didn’t know exactly what it was she could guess. She began hauling the water buckets to each stall and placing them in their holders on the wall. Each horse watched her closely as they knew this was a new person. She ran her hands down each one and smiled when the horses accepted her there. She went out and saw a group of very sleepy people being ro
Micha watched as the people all filled the area and they looked like they were already miserable. He was going to enjoy the next few days. The people there had no idea what he had planned. Though he knew he couldn’t outright fire them all he wanted to make their lives a living hell for the two weeks.“Alright people settle down,” Micha said as he raised his voice a bit. He glanced over to the stable and saw her walking around to go to the back pen probably to go check on the cow again. He smiled to himself and then looked at the people in front of him. None of them were dressed right for the day he had planned. Nice shirts and khakis were going to get ruined out here but he honestly didn’t care anymore. “We will be breaking down into smaller groups so your abilities can be tested. You will also be given a chore to do and you will have to learn it.
As breakfast was being doled out the people were still grumbling about being up at an ungodly hour. They also didn’t like the idea of being tested even though it made perfect sense to match them with the correct animal and tasks that they could do. Sophia listened as she was off to the side and she was not surprised even though she was disappointed in a way. These people really did need a wake up call on how life worked outside of the city.It was making her almost mad the way they kept going on and on about things they had no idea it was there in place for hundreds of years. They weren’t any less of people because they kept a certain way of life going. It was simple but hard. It was more rewarding to them to see the animals grow and be ready to wholesale for her it was watching the newer cows produce and whatnot. Micha and her came from the same coin just two sides
