"Man, being reasonable, must get drunk, the best of life is but intoxication."
-Lord Byron-
***
Before Eva’s body completely fell to the ground, Stefan grabbed her hand and placed one of his arm on her back.
As a result, both of them were seeing each other eye to eye with Stefan on top and her underneath him.
While Stefan could see her clearly, Eva’s vision was still slightly blurry even with glasses on and she couldn’t comprehend his expression at the moment.
After that, he helped her get back on her seat and removed the glass of wine from her sight. She was almost drunk already and he couldn’t let her situation get worse.
“Okay, you certainly have had enough drink for the evening. Just stay here first, finish your dessert if you still can, I will deal with the tab first and then I will drive you back home.” He told her.
Eva could hear everything clearly, but she was too weak to answer. She didn’t know alcohol could have this kind of effect on her. It was rather odd.
Once they were done, Stefan helped her up and held her hand the entire time as they were heading back to the car.
From her hand alone, he could tell she was burning up from the alcohol. He opened the door and helped her get inside.
Once she was all tucked in, he got in and started driving her back.
Again, the distance between the restaurant and her apartment wasn’t that far, it was a rather quick trip back.
But the problem was, she was too drunk to get back to her room alone and was ready to pass out at any minute.
“It can’t be helped.” Stefan told himself as he helped her get up to her apartment room.
He had to search her bag first to find the key so he could figure out the room’s number and once he got it, he placed her hand on his shoulder so he could have an easier time bringing her back.
Since it was late at night, the lobby wasn’t crowded, but he received a suspicious stare from one of the staff there.
Stefan ignored it and entered the elevator with her.
Once he reached her room, he unlocked the door and quickly got inside before closing the door.
“Let’s go find your bedroom, shall we?” He told Eva who already had her eyes closed at this point and since her apartment was rather small, it didn’t take long for him to find it.
Her room was rather minimalistic. She had a bed, a vanity table, a drawer and a small walk in closet. Everything was decorated in ivory and pink.
“I would have never guessed you have this kind of feminine taste.” Stefan whispered to himself before he laid her down on the bed.
He slowly helped to remove her glasses because he knew it would be getting in the way of her sleep.
“This will remind me to never take you out drinking again.” He spoke to her but she was not responding. The only sound she made was her long breathing. Once she was tucked in the bed, he planned on leaving right away.
However, before he was going to leave, he suddenly felt a hand grabbing his wrist and when he turned around, he saw her with her eyes open staring at him.
“Where are you going?” She asked.
“I’m going back home, young lady. You should rest for tonight, you are too drunk to be thinking clearly.” He told her.
“No, my body feels hot and my chest hurts, help me make the pain go away.” She said before she pulled him to the bed.
He was not sure where she got that sudden strength from but there was a significant weight and height difference between the two of them, yet at that moment, she easily pulled him into the bed while she moved to the other side of it.
She flipped him around and got on top of him. She literally sat on his stomach and stared at him with sleepy eyes.
“Ah, you’re so handsome, why is a man like you have to be related to that jerk?” She asked as she placed both of her palms on his cheek.
Stefan was absolutely dumbfounded. He was certain she was saying all of these things because she was drunk, but still, she was acting so different from her usual well-mannered self.
“Eva, I don’t think you understand what you are doing right now.” Stefan tried to reason with her despite knowing fully that she couldn’t understand him at that moment.
“No, I don’t want to. You’re a nice man, sir. Why couldn’t you be my age or something? That way I don’t have to feel guilty for wanting to touch you like this.” She said as she grabbed his chest.
Stefan was absolutely shocked by her rather scandalous gesture.
She was not wearing glasses either and her hair was a bit damp from the sweat of her burning body, so she was looking rather different from how he was used to seeing her and Stefan could feel his heart started to thump rather loudly.
His cheeks reddened. He didn’t think a woman who had just graduated could be this forward when she was under the influence of alcohol. It took him by complete surprise.
Suddenly, she leaned in closer and started kissing him. He couldn’t say no, nor could he push her away due to shock.
He felt her tongue asking for an entrance and Stefan didn’t know what came over him at the time, but he let her in and they were kissing each other for nearly one minute.
It was a rather passionate kiss. He could taste the sweet wine on her lips and she was surprisingly a good kisser.
One would have never guessed from the way she was dressed alone.
Eva finally broke the kiss and Stefan was anticipating what would happen next. He thought she would do something even crazier.
However, she suddenly lost her balance and fell on the bed right beside him while snoring lightly.
“What in the world just happened?” Stefan thought to himself as he looked at the young woman beside him. He composed himself, taking a few deep breaths.
“You’re not a beast, Stefan. She’s just a vulnerable young woman, don’t you dare try to take advantage of this situation.” He reminded himself.
He was going to leave once again before the situation worsened, but as if moved by instinct, she suddenly wrapped her arms around him while still having her eyes closed, as if she purposely wanted to gate keep him all to herself.
“Great, now I can’t move, well I can, but it will wake you up.” Stefan murmured as he allowed himself to be taken hostage by her arms.
“Ah, God, is this how I’m going to spend the rest of the night?” He asked himself as he turned around and looked at Eva’s sleeping face.
A small smile formed on his face. If he was being honest, he actually didn’t hate it. Actually, it was the opposite. He kind of enjoyed it.
The next day would be Sunday anyway, he wasn’t going to miss his work or anything.
“Sleep well, young lady.” He said before he slowly closed his eyes, allowing himself to fall asleep in a stranger’s bed.
The next morning, Eva woke up with a bit of a headache from the hangover she was experiencing. She slowly fluttered her eyes open and the first sight she saw was Stefan’s handsome face laying right beside her.
It took her a few seconds before she realized what was happening and sat up abruptly.
“What in the world did I do?” She asked herself as she ran her fingers through her hair. It was at this point did she realize drinking was truly a terrible idea.
Despite being sweet, it was still alcohol and she was carried away that she did something so shameless.
“God, what do I do?” She wondered in slight panic.
A few minutes later, Stefan also woke up from hearing the noises Eva was making and when he saw her face, he smiled. “Good morning, Eva, did you enjoy last night?”
"Happily ever after is not a fairy tale, it's a choice."-Fawn Weaver-***It was twenty second of December. Eva and Stefan both took a first class flight from the US to Vienna and after nearly nine hour of flight, they arrived on the twenty third of December. The moment both of them stepped out from the airport, they could feel the cheery Christmas vibe in the air and as she expected, winter in Vienna, especially the Christmas season was truly something else. She had never experienced anything like that in the US and Eva was really looking forward to what was coming next. They were picked up by a luxurious car which was complimentary of the hotel they were staying in that evening. The hotel was one of the most luxurious hotel in the city and there were a lot of truly affluent people from all over the world staying in there during winter season, including Stefan.Eva had been going to a lot of affluent places ever since she started dating Stefan, however, none of them were quite as sp
"In the aftermath, we are because they were."-R.J Heller-***“Brother, do you think we’re doing the right thing?” Stefan and Monica met up at a restaurant and they booked a private room to have discussion about what had been happening recently.Monica was drinking her tea while looking absolutely devastated. Her eyes were red and puffy because she had been crying all night. Stefan felt a bit of sympathy for her but his determination was far more resolute.“We already knew that sooner or later something like this would happen.” Stefan took a bite out of his meal with a rather heavy sigh.“Her state hasn’t been stable in the recent years. I know she has been through so much and sacrificed a lot for the two of us.” He paused for a moment before continuing.“But right now, she has lost her mind so far that she’s willing to actively harm someone.
"Sometimes removing some people out of your life makes room for better people."-Unknown-***Natalie was going to walk out of her apartment since she had a meeting to attend when she suddenly heard the sound of ringing. She wondered who could be knocking on her door on such random hour and wondered if it was just the delivery guy.Without thinking much, she opened the door and at that moment, a pair of strong hand slammed her inside and closed the door.Natalie was taken aback by this gesture and looked up to see Stefan standing there with an angry expression.“Stefan, what the hell!?” She raised her voice but instead of answering right away, he grabbed her by the neck and slammed her once more to the wall. The grip around her neck tightened and he was choking her at this point.“Why did you do that, Natalie? What did Eva ever do to you that you had the heart to poison her?” He
"It's never a done deal until it's a done deal."-Alexandra Daddario-***“Stefan, for the hundredth time, I told you already, I would be fine.” Eva was finally discharged from the hospital and on her way back home, Stefan told her that she wasn’t supposed to leave or go anywhere without his supervision for at least a month until Christmas day and Eva thought he was overreacting.“I know you are physically fine now but in the past two months alone, I nearly lost you a few times and I can’t risk losing you again. That’s why it’s better to be safe than sorry, at least for now.” Stefan told her.Eva wondered why he suddenly acted like this. The Stefan she knew wasn’t such an uptight man but ever since she got poisoned and almost lost her life, he had been acting so protective over her. “Fine, but at least let me go outside, it’s not like I am goin

He wanted to figure out the truth as soon as possible, hence why he quickly opened his laptop and inserted the USB drive into it.There was a file containing CCTV recording from the restaurant that evening.“How did you manage to get this file?” Stefan raised his brow. Keith shrugged.“I have my ways. You’re not the only one with power and influence around here, you know.” He responded lazily. Stefan didn’t want to overthink it and checked on those recording one by one. Then, he saw something that shocked him.An hour before the supposed gathering time, Natalie already arrived there and Sheila arrived not long after that.He could see Natalie placing the arsenic bottle on Sheila’s back, which looked like a part of their pl

Two hours had passed since he rushed her to the hospital. He remember how panicked he was when he arrived. Eva was immediately handled and brought to the ER.She had her pulse and everything else checked and later on, after the situation calmed down a little, the doctor approached him.“She’s suffering from Arsenic poisoning. Thankfully, the dosage wasn’t too high and you were quick to bring her here so she could receive the right treatment on time. Otherwise, she might pass away. You should consider yourself lucky.” The doctor told him.Hearing that statement nearly crushed him.
