Chapter 5

"Mr. Lang bought it at the auction in June. Weren’t you there with him, Miss Scott? Why would you ask that question?"

All Euri could hear was the buzzing in her head. She laughed angrily and clenched her fists. "I can’t really remember that trip. Do you have any pictures of it?"

The female employee showed Euri pictures from Edwin’s social media, which Euri had no access to. She scrolled through the pictures and saw them kissing under the bright sun of Mali Island, above the blue sea.

They drew hearts under the spectacular Northern Lights and took a boat ride out into the sea to swim with the sharks. They held hands while taking pictures.

The pictures were filled with the warmth of summer.

Euri’s heart hurt so much that she could hardly breathe. She had no idea that Edwin took care of Kiara this way. She always thought they treated each other cordially while she was asleep, but they actually spent time together as sweet lovers.

The places they visited were all locations that Euri once told Edwin she wanted to visit one day, but every time she mentioned them, Edwin said he was busy with work, and that Mali Island was not a great place to visit during autumn and winter.

It turned out that he visited all those places with Kiara during spring and summer.

Euri’s tears started to fall as she looked at the pictures. The female employee grew anxious when she saw Euri crying. "What’s wrong, Miss Scott? Why are you crying? You have to believe that you’re the only one Mr. Lang loves. You are the only person allowed into his office."

She was taken aback. Euri had never been inside Edwin’s office.

Every time she wanted to see his office, Edwin always looked hesitant. "We aren’t married yet, and I don’t want you to get tangled in my company’s issues."

Euri always thought he loved her deeply and could not bear to see her upset, but Kiara visited his office as his fiancée all this time.

"Thank you. I’m fine now."

Euri stumbled out of the bathroom and suddenly realized she had nowhere to go. She could only huddle at the emergency exit without moving.

It felt like the entire world abandoned her, and a strong sense of loneliness overcame her. She had no idea how much time passed when the door was pushed open, and Edwin appeared with a panicked look in his eyes.

"Where did you go? I searched all over the company, but couldn’t find you!"

Euri raised her head in a daze and saw the face that once made her heart beat wildly. "Edwin, Kiara has been to your company before, hasn’t she?"

Edwin froze, but he quickly pulled her up from the ground. "That’s enough! Why are you still jealous of Kiara at a time like this? She stopped by the office because she had some questions for me. Nothing happened between us.

"Let’s go try on your wedding dress today. We’ll get married right away when you wake up."

Euri was brought to the bridal shop in a stupor, and when she looked up, she realized every wedding dress she was supposed to try was pink.

The entire room was decorated with roses, and the sight woke Euri up. "Edwin, don’t you remember? I hate the color pink."
