KAIDEN

Calantha was avoiding me. And I had no idea why.

It had been a week since the incident with that brown-haired bastard, and ever since that night, she had kept her distance. She never brought it up, never spoke a word about what happened. It was as if she wanted to erase it from her mind.

And I respected that. Everyone dealt with trauma in their own way. If ignoring it helped her cope, then I wouldn’t force her to relive it.

But that didn’t mean I wasn’t worried about her.

As for the bastard who laid his hands on her —Tate Ferguson— I had him locked in the dungeon the very night it happened. No food, no water. Just darkness and silence while I decided how best to make him suffer.

I could have dragged him before the council, but that would have meant exposing what happened to Calantha. I wanted to protect her honor, to keep her name out of the gossip that would inevitably follow. So, instead, I did what I did best. I found dirt on his family.

And there was plenty of it.

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   The Final Rites

CROSSChief Priestess Tara’s cremation was held tonight in front of the grand hall at the town square. Almost everyone in the pack had shown up to pay their final respects. I stood quietly beside Nyx as Hera performed the last rites and lit the log coffin. My gaze drifted to Kaiden, who stood at the very front with Queen Adeline. Though he held his posture tall and proud like always, I saw the pain in his eyes—the same deep, familiar pain he’d once carried when he lost his sister. A pain he thought he could hide, but one I could always recognize. My heart ached for him. Tara was more than just a priestess. She was like a mother to him. Loyal, wise, and protective. Second only to Beta Bradley and Queen Adeline. I couldn’t begin to imagine how much her loss was hurting him now.As Kaiden stepped forward to scatter flowers over the flames, I caught the faint glint of tears in his eyes. Tears that no one else seemed to notice. The anger I carried for my father, for Ryker, for Hera, for t

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   An Oddly Behaved Mother

KAIDENI stayed in Calantha’s cell for nearly an hour, just watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful, as if none of the chaos around her existed. Eventually, the elder physician came in to check on her. Calantha woke up then, and I quietly excused myself but not before kissing her and whispering how much I loved her. I told her I couldn’t wait for all of this to end, for us to be free and happy again. Before I left, I instructed the guards to ensure she was eating proper meals and to notify me immediately if anything unusual happened. Then I stepped out of the cell, leaving Calantha with the physician. I made my way down the hall, away from the main wing, heading to the private quarters where Raya was being cared for. Where my mother had practically moved into since Raya returned.Ever since Raya came back, my mother hadn’t left her side. She hadn’t even been to the main wing in days. And though I was still torn and confused about the whole Raya’s situation, I knew better than to i

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   A Sick Luna

KAIDENAs soon as I finished with Cross, I stormed out of the study and made my way straight to Calantha’s cell, walking fast. I had barely been about to leave when one of the guards assigned to her had rushed in, telling me she’d been shivering all night and had thrown up multiple times.I had lost it and punched him square in the face, yelling furiously. “And why the fuck are you only telling me this now?!”He had staggered back, holding his bloody nose, but I didn’t stop to hear excuses. My heart was pounding in my chest as I rushed to the cell. When I got there, I saw her curled up on the bed, lying in a fetal position. The guards standing outside bowed their heads the moment they saw me.“Open it.” I growled an order, my eyes locked on Calantha. Her eyes, weak and groggy, slowly fluttered open at the sound of my voice. The guards obeyed immediately, unlocking the door without hesitation.I rushed inside the moment it creaked open. She was already trying to sit up but was struggli

QUEEN ADELINEIn the private wing of the packhouse, where a new room had been specially arranged for Raya, Queen Adeline sat quietly by her daughter’s side. Her fingers gently stroked Raya’s hair as the girl slowly sipped from a bowl of herbal soup that had been carefully prepared by a private cook at Adeline’s request.Everything in this part of the wing was discreet. Only a single cook and one trusted maid worked here. This secrecy was intentional. Until Adeline and Kaiden decided how and when to announce Raya’s return, no one outside this space could know she was here.Adeline’s hand moved rhythmically through Raya’s hair, her eyes misty as she watched her daughter eat. A soft smile; equal parts sorrow and joy, tugged at her lips. So much time had passed. So much pain had been endured. She wanted to ask Raya everything—How she’d survived, what had happened to her, where she had been. But not now. First, she needed her daughter to recover. And judging by how thin and frail Raya loo

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   Old Friend

KAIDENBradley stood before my desk, giving his report as I sat down and scanned through the photographs in my hands—images of the crime scene where Tara was found.“We’ve been keeping a close eye on the High Priestess and Alpha Slade, just like you instructed,” Bradley began. “But so far, we haven’t found any skeletons in their closet.”I leaned in closer to the pictures, studying them for anything that I might have missed. But nothing stood out. All that was there was the same bloody scene and the knife that she’d been stabbed with. Nothing out of the ordinary. “It’s almost like they knew we’d be watching,” Bradley continued, his voice edged with frustration. “As if they swept every track clean before we could even look.”I clenched my jaw, the muscle twitching as he spoke.“And Tara’s cremation…” he added, his voice softening into a sad tone, “It’s happening tonight. We’ve arranged a proper send-off, just as you ordered.”His words sank deep into my chest like a blade. I closed my

CROSSI stormed straight into the meeting room the moment I arrived at the coven house. Once I reached the doors, I pushed them carelessly open, and all heads turned in my direction. Sitting at the long table were my coven members, my father, and Ryker.I let out a bitter scoff the second our eyes met. The anger burning inside me grew ten times hotter. That asshole Ryker was sitting comfortably in my chair. The bloody nerve.I had received word from a trusted source that a meeting was being held behind my back. So, the moment I dropped Nyx off at the packhouse, I drove here in a hurry. And clearly, the informant hadn’t lied.“What the hell is going on here?” I growled as I walked in, step by slow step, my eyes scanning each of their faces. None of them moved an inch. Not even Max. For once, the cowards looked like they had found their courage. Or at least, they thought they had.My gaze locked with Max’s. His eyes didn’t blink or shift. He just stared right back at me.“How dare yo
