Chapter 4

Their royal carriage was running on the way to the venue of the grand ball arranged by Alpha Daxon Valor. Alexander was sitting beside Hazel draping his arm around her shoulders firmly. Her both hands were placed on her lap and she fidgeting with her fingers in nervousness.

Suddenly she got curious of the surroundings of the outside world. It's been two years she didn't saw the outer world. And she suspiciously didn't even remembered the last time she was out and what the surroundings around them look like. She slide the curtain off the window and tried to gaze out of the carriage. But before she can her shoulder got squeezed roughly.

When she turned her gaze to the owner of the hand she saw him glaring at her with his angry eyes. She lowered her head and immediately sat back of her place scared of his anger. How she can forgot she is not allowed to do anything without his permission. If breathing can have a control so she had to ask for his permission even for it also.

"H-How I'm supposed to act there?" she asked him. So, now she have to act infront of the strangers there. Because she can't show her true self to them. Which is scared, insecure, introvert and what not.

"Be friendly and just don't embarrass me there." he said to her and she nodded her head slowly. That's what she mostly scared of not to him embarrass him.

"Look at me babygirl." he demanded to her. He thrusted his face closer to her and moved his gaze to her lips while licking his lips. He tried to kiss her lips but she turned her face away from him. Because the fear of pain again emerged in her.

Hazel don't know what's the problem with her. From when she got up on the bed gaining her consciousness two years ago. The first person he saw was Alexander and he told her she is his love, his mate.

But whenever he tries to come closer she always feel the sudden pain as a heavy feeling in her chest. Many time he tried to come closer to her and make love to her but whenever he touched her in that way a sudden pain always abrupt in her heart and she almost becomes life less. She feels like her bones are breaking and her flesh in burning. But how that is even possible when she is mere human. Yes, she is not a werewolf like Alexander but only the mate of him.

Alexander always gets upset from her when she denies him but not force her because he don't want to result it as rape. She tried to give herself to him many times but whenever he did came closer to her the pain starts in her chest and always makes her lifeless.

They consult it to make doctors and witches but they don't found any solution of it. Many nights she spent crying to moon goddess that why she mated her with him, when they can't even become one soul. When she can't love him and get loved by him like a couple. But inresponse she got nothing but silence.

They reached there and the carriage stopped. He turned to her and said "This party means a lot to me and held many opportunities for me and for you and I don't want to miss them. So behave!" he smiled at her and kissed her cheek.

Hazel wagged her head looking down and he got down from the carriage and walked ahead. She sat there not knowing how to get down with this heavy ball gown. The Yad got down from the carriage and tried to help her by extending his hand towards her. But before she can put her hand in his he was pushed away from his place.

"Dare to come near her and you will find yourself in slices." Alexander growled at him making Hazel scared she shrinked back in her seat.

He snapped his brown eyes at her glaring at her. "Come." he demanded and stepped aside from the door of the carriage. Somehow she collected her gown and got down from the carriage and adjusted her attire.

Alexander started walking ahead of her and Hazel started following him. They entered the huge hall with lighting and decorations of magnolia flowers. Hazel's heart jiggled smelling the fresh smell of these flowers and from now on this will her favourite flowers.

Alexander held her hand and wrapped her hand around his bicep making them look like a healthy couple, which in Hazel's mind they are.

Hazel roamed her gaze in the hall and saw thousands of people present there drinking and interacting. She saw many women there with their mates and husbands in very revealing dresses. No me there was like her in veil. She felt insecure and scooted a little close to Alexander.

He was talking to a man by now when he felt her scooting closer to him he moved his gaze to her and saw her gazing here and there in the hall. He moved his gaze again to the man in front of him.

"She is my mate and the Luna of the nightingale pack, Hazel Suarez." she snapped her gaze at him after he mentioned her name. She bowed her head a little towards the man greeting him and he also smiled at her.

After few minutes of talking the man walked away somewhere. Alexander moved his gaze to her and saw gazing on the floor. "It's fine you did well." he said to her making her head snapped at him. He nodded at her firmly and saw the couple started dancing at the slow music playing the rhythm.

"Come." he said to her and walked in the centre of the hall. She also trailed behind him and stopped right after he stopped at a certain place.

He turned around and draped his both arms around her waist. He passed her a smile indicating to put her hands on his shoulders. She immediately did understanding his indications. He started swaying her slowly on the soft rhythm of the music playing in the background but Hazel was not feeling well she was feeling that something bad was going to happen.

She was feeling a void in her heart that something is missing which is doesn't know. Her mind started feeling alone and helpless like a living entity would feel. But she shrugged away her thoughts thinking it as a hallucination of her mind.

Finding them in the centre of the hall Alexander thought if he would kiss her here then she will not be in the situation to deny him so following his instincts he thrusted his face closer to kiss her but feeling him coming closer to her Hazel turned her head away on her instincts.

She didn't knew suddenly what happened and how did this happen when she raised her head towards Alexander she saw him glaring at her with his angry red eyes. A growl was vibrating his chest and she knew his inner wolf in angry at her. She immediately lowered her gaze at the floor.

Alexander clenched his jaw tightly feeling angry and rejected. But before he can anything to her he saw the certain person entering the hall. Fur whom they came here.

Alexander smirked thinking something wicked in his mind and said to her "There's a person you have to meet now."

She snapped her head at him in confusion. "W-who?" she asked stuttering out.

"Alpha Daxon Valor." as soon as the name escaped his lips a chill ran down her spine. She suddenly felt something inside her. Was it fear? No, she can't pinpoint exactly what she suddenly started feeling after hearing that person's name.
