I closed my eyes and deepened the kiss. I sucked on her bottom lip, hoping to feel that ecstasy I have always been dreaming of but nothing happened. Talia probably felt the same way for she wasn’t kissing me back either.

“Red, stop,” Talia trailed off as she pulled her lips away from me.

I frowned at her. “Isn’t this what you wanted? Why did you stop?” I asked her. I was getting pissed off not because I actually wanted it to but because this was the only way I could forget about my problems. She was the answer and now she was rejecting me. Why?

“Red, I am sorry but I can’t do this.”

“Why can’t you do it?” I asked in irritation. “Isn’t this what you have always wanted?”

Talia moved away from me. She looked like she was having an internal battle with herself but I wasn’t concerned with that. I felt insulted. She had promised to love me. She had asked me to forget about my mate and come to her. Now that I was giving myself to her, she was rejecting it!
