Raven: Breakfast

Raven

I wait until I hear all three doors close then walk out and grab a bottle of vodka, going back to my room I drink until I pass out, hoping that it blocks the nightmares. It seems to, as when I wake the sun is up and my body hurts. So I slept for a while then.

Stripping off my clothes I walk to the bathroom and shower. My mind on last night, the brothers now know my secrets, or at least know I have some. That needs to be the end of it, I can’t have anyone else finding out the truth.

I made mistakes, I know I did, and I will forever carry around the guilt and darkness that those mistakes caused. The death will cling to my back and never release its grip. Getting dressed my mind is still replaying everything and I feel sick, I can almost see and smell the blood. I can’t drink yet, not enough to drown it out anyway. So, dancing will have to do. The music fills the room, ‘Foreplay’ by Shensea the soundtrack I opt to dance to.

I learnt quickly, that dancing is great, but often the lyrics to the music I dance to add to the taunting.

My body moves to the music, my fingers purposely portraying the words of the song as I do. I get lost in the music and spin to see them standing at the door watching. I smile and continue to dance, my body moving and taunting them.

They want to watch, so I will let them. With each move, I get closer to them, until I am standing ahead of Ashton. I smile sweetly and move my hips to grind against his cock before dropping to my knees in front of him.

After the song finishes, I stay laid on the floor, tired, but happy.

“Taunt.” I laugh at Ashton’s one word.

“We wanted to know if you would like to join us for breakfast?” Grayson grits the words through his teeth. “No, didn’t think so.” He turns to leave and Emmett stops him.

“Thank you for the offer, guess I will.” I was going to refuse until he answered for me. Grayson almost growls in response and storms out as Emmet and Ashton laugh. I follow them out and sit at the table, silence engulfs us as no one talks, and I wonder if it is because of last night or the fact they just watched me dance.

I look at Grayson, now fully taking him in. He has blue eyes like Emmet. His hair is long and dark, and he works out, maybe a bodybuilder or powerlifter? Either way his arms are big, with tattoos running down them. He reminds me a little of someone, I bite against my lip and consider it. Roman Reigns, that is who he reminds me of.

Grayson has to be at least thirty, I think? Either way, it is something nice to look at while living here. My eyes go to Emmet. He has short hair and slight stubble. He isn’t big, but clearly works out just not to the extreme that Grayson does. I look at him, considering who he looks most like. Chace Crawford, that is who he reminds me of, and he has to be about twenty-seven maybe?

I look to Ashton, he is the baby, of the brothers anyway. He’s about twenty-four, or maybe twenty-five? His eyes are green, and almost mesmerising. He looks so different from Emmet and Grayson, there are no features he has that they share. His hair is curly and almost black, and when he smiles he has perfect dimples, which are really sweet. He reminds me of Joshua Bassatt.

It’s weird how different Ashton is to them. I wonder if Ava is right, she said people assume they are brothers, but maybe they aren’t?

“Are your eyes enjoying their meal?” I look up shocked, shit I spaced out. I laugh slightly.

“Was just thinking, that’s all.” I smile at Ashton as his words were clearly meant to tease me.

“Thinking? Of what? How hot I am?” Ashton teases and leans forward.

“You wish baby face, Grayson maybe.” I wink and laugh. “Joking, I’m trying to figure out how old you all are.”

“Well, I’m twenty-five, Emmett is twenty-eight and Grayson is sixty, or so he acts it.” Ashton laughs and Emmett joins in, but Grayson doesn’t look amused.

“I doubt that.” I’ve not seen him acting like an old man. “Then again, he’s the big brother, likely tired from running around after you two constantly.”

“Believe me, he does. Why do you think he isn’t fighting it? He’s thirty-five, and you are?” He looks at me waiting.

“A baby compared to you three, that’s for sure.” I laugh and they wait. “Fine, I’m twenty-one.”

“Aww, a proper baby.” Emmett teases.

“Raven.” I look up to Grayson confused, he’s talking to me? “About last night, those things that Dave said.” No! I am not ready for this, not at all.

“Later, I’m late meeting Ava.” I give no room for them to argue, standing instantly and leaving. I’m not meeting Ava, she is busy today, I can’t talk about my past. I drive around for a while, stopping when I see the gym. Walking in I look around.

The men stop working out and turn to watch me walk through.

“Can I help?” A man stands ahead of me.

“I was wondering if this was a men-only gym?” I hope not.

“Well, that depends on what you know. If you’re any good?”

He’s looking at me amused like I’m someone who just thought today let’s give it a try.

“I can tell you it wouldn’t be my first time.”

“Second time?” He looks at me amused.

“No, I was doing it every day for over a year.”

“Well, if you’re sure, get in.” He points to the ring. “Sarah.”He calls out and I move to the ring, I watch him talk to Sarah and point at me. Slipping off my footwear I watch as he hands me the gloves. Putting them on I move into the correct stance.

“Strong stance.” He nods at me. Clearly shocked, and no doubt assuming I was lying. I move my body with Sarah’s. There wasn’t anywhere at the last place I could do this. The only gym like this was for men only. I move as she does and we fight.

Kickboxing I took up when I saw more and more of those I loved hurt or die. I wanted to be ready for when he came for me again. Which I know one day he will. It won’t be as easy for him to take down this time. I might have been a child then and defenceless, but not this time.

By the time we are finished, I’m exhausted, and it’s clear it’s been a while since I have done it.

“Look, I’m Jason. We have maybe five female kickboxers here. If you want to join that is fine. Strict rules, you can train with the men but not fight them. Agree?” He looks at me waiting and I nod.

“That is fine, are there any specific days or times allowed or not allowed?”

“No, most of the women come between five and seven. Sarah part owns it so is here all the time. I will get you the paperwork to fill out.” He walks off and I smile, I missed this. I mean, I have a black eye, apparently, I’m rusty. I’m not awful though, so in a few weeks, I should be back to where I was before. I like that the hours for women aren’t restricted.

Sitting I fill in the paperwork and say thanks before leaving. It’s already late, so tonight I am dancing straight away. The night goes well, and I decide to go home rather than party. After the restless night and events of today, I will have a few drinks at home and then sleep.
