“Know what, exactly?”

He pauses, his bloody eyes flickering and turning green, "These animals, these people, and me, we have something in common that you don't, and yet I still made you my companion." I wait for him until I become inflexible and almost leave my position if it weren’t for his words.

“It just so happens that you were that person for the underground event, but I was able to flip it earlier, so whoever becomes my companion will be the golden price for it.”

“Why did you strike a deal with them and what transpired earlier?”

“It's not a deal, but it's like a custom,” he says as I hear him sigh. “Because some of the individuals you just witnessed at this event aren't actually humans," I enlarge my eyes.

“What the heck are you talking about----?” The instant I hear him slam the walls next to me, I find myself unable to continue my sentence. I can now smell the blend of sandalwood and forest in his minty breath. Although intriguing, it sometimes confuses me.
