Harper’s POV

I reversed into the school's parking lot, barely able to avoid hitting the car next to me, and I exhaled with relief as I successfully parked the car.

I drove so slowly that I'm sure even a snail would have made it to school already.

It seemed like I would need a lot more practice before I'm able to master how to drive properly.

My phone beeped beside me again, and I reached for it.

I was too nervous earlier to check who was calling.

I turned on the screen, but a shout of my name

She really surprised me." She giggled, walking around the c

Chapter 87_Jace's POVWhat the hell happened!I thought quietly as I opened my eyes again and stared at the unfamiliar ceiling above me.Right. The ice rink.I held my head slowly, feeling quite lightheaded and very hungry. Why am I still here at the hospital?I muttered, asking no one in particular. What about the training and Harper?I turned my head to the side and noticed someone standing beside my bed, checking something on the monitor."Harper?"My voice came out hoarse.I reached for her hand, taking it in mine, but let go immediately when I saw clearly that it wasn't her. It's just a nurse."Where is Harper?" I asked her.She stared at me with confusion."I am sorry. I do not know who you are talking about."I frowned."Harper..."I groaned and slowly pushed myself upright.Pain throbbed through the side of my head, making me wince."What time is it?"She glanced at the clock."Nine in the morning."I blinked."Nine?""Yes."I stared at her."Isn't today Saturday?"The nurse

  • Stuck With My Bully Until Graduation   Not a big deal

_ Harper's POV cont. My mouth parted slightly as we stepped in. The room was enormous. It looked less like a hospital room and more like an expensive private office, with a sitting area, large windows, expensive furniture, and enough space to fit an entire family. Marla was standing near the window, speaking on the phone. She glanced at us. Her eyes immediately landed on me, then she ended the call. She walked toward the sofa and sat down. Mom and I followed suit, and she spoke first. "I'm sorry about what happened." She took my hand. "How is he?" "I made myself clear to you the other night, didn't I?" she said, her eyes fixed coldly on me. "I warned you to stay away from my son, but not only did you not listen to me, but you almost killed him today." My stomach tightened. "I did nothing to him. He had an accident while we were skating." I explained, but she doesn't seem interested in hearing that. Marla scoffed. "Of course. I'm sure you would have an excuse to give.

_Harper's POV cont.I sat stiffly on the narrow seat inside the ambulance, my eyes fixed on Jace.I could barely hear anything beyond the sound of the siren outside. The paramedics moved around him quickly, checking his pulse, shining a small light into his eyes, and cleaning the blood from the side of his head."He is going to be okay, right?" I asked for what felt like the hundredth time. One of the paramedics glanced at me."He just has a cut on the side of his head, but his vital signs are stable."I swallowed."Does that mean he is fine?""He appears to be. But he still needs to be evaluated properly at the hospital."I nodded slowly, but I couldn't bring myself to look away from him.His face looked peaceful, contrary to the chaos in my mind right now.My fingers tightened around the edge of the seat. What if something was seriously wrong with him and they simply hadn't noticed yet? What if...I stopped when I heard him move.A low groan escaped his lips as his eyes twitched.M

_Harper’s POV cont.I held on tightly to Jace, not letting go for a second, and listened as he taught me how to stand properly on the ice.He held both my hands and slowly guided me forward."Just bend your knees slightly."I did."Good.""Everything about this feels wrong."He laughed.I lifted one foot carefully and then another until I was able to walk a few steps.I blinked."I did it."Jace smiled proudly."See?"I looked at him."I am actually doing it."I smiled, relaxing a bit while he continued guiding me.Each step soon became easier and I began to relax.Maybe I could actually do this.I smiled, but then noticed there was something wrong.I turned to my left and noticed that Jace was no longer beside me.He was standing a few feet behind with a grin.My eyes widened."Jace…"My skate slipped.I gasped and threw my arms out. Before I could hit the ice, his arms wrapped around my waist from behind. He caught me.My back pressed against his chest as he steadied me.I stared a

I didn't know how to get home. I just kept thinking she would come back for me."A tear escaped from the corner of his eye.He quickly wiped it away."She didn't."I squeezed his hand."Someone eventually found me, but by then I'd been out there for three days."I felt tears gathering in my own eyes."Three days?"He nodded."They took me to an orphanage and I stayed there for two and a half years."I didn't know what to say. There was nothing I cou
