ELIAS'S POV

I struggled to keep my hands steady as I buttoned my shirt. My reflection in the mirror looked almost like a stranger, pale, tense with eyes haunted with fear I didn’t want to admit.

My father will be arriving at the school soon. Though my mother had called and asked what happened, and I explained my side of the story, she promised to talk to my father.

But I still wasn't at ease because it was my father we were talking about here.

Alpha Killian Thorne, the man who had raised me with expectations heavier than steel, who believed mistakes were weaknesses, and weaknesses were unacceptable.

I had let Adrian get the best of me, which was a terrible mistake on my part. And now I was on the verge of suspension, which will make me a failure and a disappointment to my father. It was a perfect combination of all the things he hated.
