Jace's POV.

"Babe…" Clara walked into the room further to meet me, as I had just stepped out of the bathroom door. "I cannot sleep alone. I am having so much pain in my stomach, and that's because I need you," she said, making me scowl.

I felt that Clara wanted to use her pregnancy to trap me. Especially now that I had filed for a divorce.

"But you left for three months and could sleep alone in Los Angeles?" I asked her coldly, and she flinched.

"Yes, it was torture." However, her hands flew to her stomach and she cried, "Ah! I am so sorry, Jace. I am sorry, please…"

I sighed, knowing that I cannot send Clara away now. As much as her presence irritated me, I cannot risk losing my child.

"It's fine. Since you want to sleep here, you can move over to the bed and sleep on it, but know that there's no cuddling between us," I told her coldly, as I moved away to the closet to find my night robe and donned it.

"But I want you close to me," Clara started sobbing, but I silenced her.
