A wedding was supposed to be the happiest day in a woman's life, but mine was the reverse. My twin sister disappeared on the night before her wedding. Her billionaire fiancé, Jace Augustus, was a well-known politician in the city, having both wealth and power. However, I was forced by my parents to take up Clara's place, as they couldn't call off the wedding. While Clara and I are identical twins, Jace was able to detect our differences, that I am not his real wife, but he used me. He used me, until Clara returned back from abroad, and he brought up a divorce paper and ordered me to sign it. Should I sign it and leave? What happens when I am already pregnant with Jace's child? How does he expect me to move on after three months of our marriage? Find out.

"Celine, you have to take up your sister's place tomorrow," my father, Mr. Morris Mason, said to me. As he stormed into my room with my mother.
"Dad, I don't understand. Why will I have to take up Clara's place tomorrow? Where is she?" I asked, because I was aware that Clara went for her bridal shower. How can she just flee on the eve of her wedding?
"Something came up, according to Clara, and she had to take care of it," My father said, and I sighed. Standing in my bedroom as I didn't attend the extravagant bridal shower of my twin sister, Clara Mason.
Clara and I were identical twin sisters. We are both 25 years old. And I know that many of Clara's friends were saying that I was jealous of my twin sister because she was getting married before me. But that was not the truth.
I am in a relationship with Martin Enzo, a construction worker. But Martin wasn't the type of groom my father wanted, so he rejected him.
Everyone was proud of my twin sister. She was the apple of everyone's eyes...even our older brother, Luca. But I was the reverse.
I owned a bakery shop in this part of the city. And I pleaded with my parents last month to allow me to marry Martin. But my father plainly refused and said that only a rich man is allowed to marry me. Despite my pleas, my parents refused me from getting married and chased Martin and his uncles away after they came for my hand in marriage. Because of this incident, I refused to attend my sister's engagement party or her bridal shower. Now she had disappeared and wanted me to take her place on her wedding day.
"How can Clara just disappear without explaining her reason to her manager that she is getting married to a wealthy man, the groom you all wanted?" I queried my father, who stood in my door with my mother.
My father had a dark skin tone, while my mother was fair like me and my twin sister. We were her exact replica.
"Celine, I know that you are finding this hard to believe. But Clara said that she had worked so hard to be among those to be selected for the stars award, and she cannot miss the modeling shoot. Please, you are her twin sister, and Jace Augustus will never find out." My mother begged me, and I looked at her face in horror.
"Mom, I cannot do it. You and Father need to order Clara to come back right now. Where's my phone?" I moved back and went to pick up my phone and contacted my sister. She owed me an explanation of this sudden disappearance. How can she expect me to stand in for her on her wedding day? Is she crazy? I had already stood in for Clara, and many wouldn't know that I am not Clara. The worst, her fans visit my shop and taking photos of me and tagging me as Clara. But I am not my sister. Dammit.
"Clara!" My angry voice boomed over the phone call as soon as she answered my call.
"Hey, Celine. I am sorry that I took so long to call you. Please, can you stand in for me tomorrow. Please, please, sister," Clara begged me, in her sweet seductive voice that renders me speechless. I was ready to do anything for this crazy sister of mine, just to make her happy and to achieve her dream as a top model.
"Clara, I don't think that I can do this. How do you expect me to stand in for you? Wait, during the wedding, the priests will ask us to exchange vows and kiss. How can you trade your wedding day for business?" I couldn't understand my sister, so I needed an explanation.
"Celine, I wish I could explain this to you, but my phone battery will soon run down. Please, after this one, I won't ask you to stand in for me again. Please, please," Clara begged me once more, rendering me speechless.
"Are you saying that I should kiss your groom? What if he finds out that I am not you? You know that I am not as talkative as you, and I am not that close to him. Did you already tell him that I am not you?" I asked, wanting a better clarification. As I knew Jace and I aren't close.
I knew that he was my sister's fiancé. He shows her off to his friends and other politicians, as my sister is a very popular person with more than 10 million followers online.
"No, Celine. Please, do not tell Jace that I am not you. You have to act as me and pretend that you are me. You know how I behave, so mimic me very much," Clara said, and I sighed heavily.
"This is too risky. What if he finds out and locks me up? What do I tell him? You have to explain to him so that we don't kiss, or even think of me as you. I don't like your fiancé, and I cannot stand in for you. I am sorry," I wanted to end the call on my sister, and she begged me, "Please, Celine. I am begging you. If you don't help me out, then we are no longer sisters."
"Clara!" I was tongue-tied. This was her usual threat.
"I don't think that I can do this," I said, and she threatened, already sobbing over the phone call. "Then do not call me again."
The phone call ended, and I looked at my parents' worried faces, most especially my father's face that was filled with dread.
"Celine, you have to stand in for Clara. If the Augustus finds out that your sister is missing, then we are doomed," My father begged me, even went as far as kneeling down. I guessed this was the price I had to pay for being born as a twin. My twin sister used me for most of her silly business and sending me to cover up for her with the threat of disowning me. Now it was her wedding.
"Fine. I will try and do this, but I hope Jace Augustus doesn't find out. If not, I won't go down alone," I warned my parents, and they shivered.
"No one will know. You will learn to smile and act like Clara until she is back. Besides, this isn't your first time of taking her place," My mother said, making me sigh heavily.
"Fine. I will give it a try. You guys should excuse me. Let me have some sleep. This is past midnight," I told my parents, and they smiled and wished me goodnight before leaving my door.
I shut the door and muttered, "I hope I can do this." I later went to my bed to sleep, but dread filled my heart.
Jace's POV.I knew my child resembled me, but I just wanted to do the DNA test to know that he was really mine. I wanted a child so much, and most especially a son, and now that I have him, I cannot bring myself to accept his mother for her betrayal.I cannot look at Clara's face. As I could feel her betrayal, and she didn't even care that Celine hadn't been found, and she was the reason for her sister's disappearance.I picked up my phone and messaged Luca to let him know that Clara had given birth. I cannot keep it away from them that Clara now has a child for me.So I sent the text message to Luca, and he immediately replied, "What the heck? How manage? So Clara was pregnant, and she allowed you to marry Celine and sleep with Celine. How could she?"Luca was enraged as he sent me a text message back.I sighed and replied, "I don't know. I am as well confused why she kept the pregnancy away from me. She could have told me that night that she wanted to leave and her twin would take h
Clara's POV.I watched as Jace's car arrived at his luxury white mansion and parked. The car ride had been silent so far. He got out of the car and came around to observe our baby, who was sleeping.I got out of the front seat of the car too, and gently walked over to meet him."It's alright. You can go in," he said, gesturing for me to go inside, but I told him, "No, I want to see how you'll carry him."Jace sighed, not saying a word in refusal. He carefully carried our baby out and took the little one inside."I had already set up his room with mine, as he will be staying with me until we get a nanny," I informed Jace, and he sighed."Alright."Jace and I walked into the living room of his vast two-story building. Tina and Esther came out of the kitchen and welcomed us."Welcome, Madam. Congratulations," they said, greeting me with warm smiles on their faces.Tina was wearing a red top, black skirt, and slippers, her hair weaved in all back, while Esther had her hair styled in a bun
~Jace's POV~As I entered the lobby, Dr. Paul came to meet me and said, "Mr. Augustus, I would like to see you in my office.""Alright," I replied and followed Dr. Paul to his office. As we sat across from each other in his office, which was painted white and had a few medical advertisements of human anatomy on the wall, his office featured two guest chairs and a bed where he ran quick tests on his patients.I sat across from Dr. Paul, and he said, "Actually, your wife's body recovered fast after her child's delivery, so we will have to discharge her so that she can go home. She spoke about registering the child for immunization in another hospital closer to your home because of the distance to this place," Dr. Paul said, and I nodded."Yeah. It will take us two hours to get to this place, so I will appreciate it if you wrap up with all the necessary things you want to do for her. But we will still keep in touch in case we need your help," I said, seeing that Dr. Paul could slightly b
~Jace's POV~"Jace!" Mom exclaimed as she got out of her car and came to give me a warm hug."Good morning, Mom. Adira," I welcomed my mother and my younger sister.Mom was wearing a blue dress, and Adira wore a pink dress and black shoes."Where is Clara and our baby, and why did you allow your wife to come to this local hospital?" Mom lamented at the poor state of the hospital building.I sighed and explained to her, "Mom, you know that I can afford any hospital, both home and abroad. It's just that Clara said that she had been experiencing difficulty in labour. So a friend recommended this hospital to her," I said, and my mother gasped."Ah! Thank God that she has given birth safely. Truly, pregnancy comes with different types of issues. But in the end, we hope for the mother and child to be safe. Can we go inside and see them?" Mom asked, and I smiled and led her and Adira into the hospital lobby.Adira wasn't impressed with the poor state of the hospital either. Though the hospit
~Jace's POV~I knew that Clara would be expecting me to love her after she had her baby, but I had made up my mind to divorce her, and I cannot change my mind about it.I still felt guilty and betrayed as I wished that she had told me the truth: that she was traveling and wanted her twin to stand in for her.I simply cannot bring myself to love Clara like before. When I looked at Clara's face, I felt reminded of her twin sister, Celine, and the fact that Clara betrayed me into marrying her twin.I made up my mind to keep my distance from Clara, but for the sake of this innocent child, I decided to be easy with Clara, and to care for the baby until I do a DNA test to know if he is truly my child or not. However, the little baby boy amazes me when he stopped crying in my arms. He warmed my cold heart to feel the need to take care of him.Dr. Paul explained to me that Clara had difficulty in producing breast milk, and he would place her on some diet to help her generate milk, but the lit
~Clara's POV~I was nervous when Jace came into the small hospital room and said that his mother would like to speak with me.I was anxious, partly because I knew that I wasn't the real child's mother. But Jace wouldn't find out; I have my subordinate keeping tabs on Dr. Paul, and he dared not play smart with me.I thought about my twin sister. How would she have been feeling now that I had taken her child away from her? This was our initial agreement for me to take the baby that was Jace's child, and she can move on with her life, but Celine wanted to play smart with me.I wasn't ready to carry a child in my womb, and I knew that even though I discussed surrogacy with Jace, he wouldn't agree."How are you doing, my wife? I heard that you have given birth," Jace's mother spoke to me with a warm voice, and I replied, "I am fine, Ma. It's been God all through.""Don't worry. I will come around and see you tomorrow and bring many herbs to help you recover fast and to recover your shape a
