Chapter two

I was startled but not surprised, the hands that were reaching out to support him suddenly stopped moving. I knew Matthew hated others touching him, but if I didn't help him out, he wouldn't be able to get up.

Matthew was arrogant, prideful and stern. He didn't want others to see him in such a pathetic situation.

"Mr. Brown, are you okay?" I said, worrying.

Matthew met my worried gaze, he carefully put his hand on the floor, trying to push himself up and sit on the wheelchair again but he didn't have enough strength so he fell to the ground again.

I hold out my hand again, trying to help him out.

“Don’t touch me!” He said it again, gritting his teeth.

In my mind, I kept thinking. If I didn't help him out, it means I didn't fulfill my responsibilities then I would be fired by his mother but if I did, it means I didn’t listen to him, and I might also be fired. What should I do to not be fired?

Making money was not easy at all, the higher the salary was, the more responsibility was. Because of the tuition fees, I had to try my best and couldn't give up.

Matthew punched his legs hard, his eyes filled with hatred, helplessness and inpotentance.

I couldn't see him like that anymore. Despite his objections, I put my hand on his shoulder, trying to help him sit on the wheelchair. He was very angry because I didn't obey him but I could only ignore his anger. This was my job, I needed to take good care of him.

“Mr. Brown, Please don't make my job more difficult." I said as slowly as possible.

Hearing what I just said, Matthew shook his head and said nothing.

Looking at his lonely eyes, deep down, I felt pity for him. But thinking about myself, I suddenly realized, I had no right to pity him. My life was even much worse than his.

He was a billionaire, he had a mother who loved him so much. Although I only met his mother once, based on her concern and affectionate eyes when she looked at him, I knew she loved him with all her heart.

"I worked so hard to get this job, please don't get me fired." I begged in a low voice.

Before accepting me to work here, his mother said that money was not an issue, as long as I could take good care of him, she would definitely pay me a high salary, but if I didn't take good care of him, she would fire me.

Matthew slightly pursed her lips, although he didn’t laugh out loud, his eyes were less cold than before.

In the midst of that, Matthew's assistant, Brian entered his room. He was a very polite and courteous person. The moment Brian stepped in the room, he froze. Since Matthew had an accident, Brain hadn't seen his face so peaceful like this for a long time.

Realizing that Brain had something to say to Matthew, I immediately asked his permission to go out.

"Mr. Brown, I'll get out first." I bowed slightly.

He nodded and I immediately got out, not forgetting to close the door.

Brian talked to Matthew for a while, He soon came out. He walked over to me, carefully reminded, “Take good care of Mr. Brown and don't let any situation like this happen again."

I nodded and said, "I got it. I'll pay more attention and absolutely not let this happen again."

Brian was satisfied with my answer and then left, I breathed a sigh of relief, it seems I could still keep this job.

Even though I wouldn’t be fired, the worries in my heart still couldn't completely disappear. My results in the university entrance exam were not as good as I expected. Although it was enough for me to be able to enter the National University of Economics, it was not enough for me to get an entrance scholarship.

My stepmother did not give me money to pay my tuition fees and I didn’t get the entrance scholarship, so I could only earn money to go to college on my own. All the money I had saved was not enough for me to pay the tuition fees for the first semester, not to mention the living expenses and other costs.

There was no one around me that I could borrow money from. What should I do to get such a lot of money in a short time?

After Matthew had fallen, I carefully observed him, I didn't want to make any more unnecessary mistakes. Matthew opened the door of his room, I saw him sitting motionless in the wheelchair not far away. After finishing the work on his laptop, He just sat like that by the window, quietly watching the scenery outside with a pensive face, not saying a word.

I suddenly thought it would be great if I could borrow money from him, he was very rich and my tuition fee was just a small amount for him but I didn't do that. I was just an ordinary employee, no more no less. If all of his employees wanted to borrow money from him like me. He would feel very annoyed.

Instead of borrowing money from Matthew, I thought I could try to ask Brian if he could lend me some money or give me a salary advance,

As soon as I met Brian again in the afternoon, I would carefully ask him about that.

“Brain, can you lend me some money or can you give me a salary advance?” I said, though I didn't know how long I would work here.

“You need money?” Brian asked.

Of course he knew I needed money so I asked him for the salary advance. What he really wanted to know was why I needed the salary advance?

"I need money to pay for my college tuition fees, you know, college tuition is not a small amount, in a short time I couldn't collect enough money, so I want to ask for the salary advance."

Brian didn't ask any more questions, he thought for a moment and then said, “I'll talk to Mrs. Brown about your advance payment.”

Mrs. Brown was Matthew's mother, and also was the person who directly hired me to do this job. If I wanted to get the salary advance, of course I needed to have her acceptance.

"Thank you very much, Brian." I didn't know what to say other than thank you.
