48. I Beg You

“Uhh?”

Stella's steps were blocked because Lexus's hand reached out to hold her. Lexus also said, "I beg you ... don't leave me!"

Lexus still closed his eyes. His brow furrowed. He repeated his request again. "Don't go! I'm afraid to be here alone."

Lexus gripped Stella's hand even tighter. Stella also understood. She abandoned her intention to go for help. She hugged Lexus as she whispered, “I'm not going anywhere, my Husband. Just relax! I'll watch over you ‘til you wake up."

Even though Stella had tried to calm Lexus down, the man didn't let go of her hand or loosened his grip a bit. Then, Stella whispered again, “Everything will be fine. Just trust me!"

Stella tried to stay calm and not panic so she could take good care of Lexus. She is a wife. She must be able to protect her husband and be loyal to his husband's side, right?

Oh no! A pair of eyes that had been watching Stella peeked from the doorway and Stella didn't notice. A few seconds later, the pair of eyes disappeared.
