Ki was the only person capable of bringing out all the emotions in me. She could bring out the best and the worst in me. I had been the best version of myself for her and I believed I had made progress and now she was forcing my hand. I needed to make her forget about James and if it meant I have to do shock therapy on her so the memories finally vanish for good I would.

James “It’s not her,” I took a deep breath. Thank God it’s not her. I could finally breathe and calm down. I had gotten a call two hours ago that a girl matching Ki’s description had been found 80 miles away from Springs City in the woods by some hikers. Harper I felt like an idiot for falling in love with Conrad. He was a two-timing snake and a cheater. I had fallen for his lies. James “OH MY GOD, James,” Harper squealed the moment I walked in the front door jumping before going in for a hug. “Easy there, you almost gave me a heart attack,” I responded. “Why didn’t you tell me?” She took a step back, still giddy. “Tell you what?” I frowned looking at her. “The car. The one that’s outside with a bow. It’s mine, right? I can’t believe you rushed off without telling me I now have a car. Where are the keys? You are the best brother ever,” she said without standing still giddy. “Oh shoot. I’m sorry I forgot,” I smiled, taking out the keys from my pocket, “That was the surprise I had for you earlier. At least now you don’t have to nag me about this anymore.”

James I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched Ki sitting in her office working. I called her name, but she couldn’t hear me. I wanted to get closer to kiss her or touch her, but I couldn’t. There was a soft knock in her office and I became mad but there was nothing I could do but watch. “Hey, Ki, I know you like to work until late, but I have canceled your afternoon session,” Nick said and I could tell he was holding his breath as Ki responded not taking my eyes off the keyboard. “I understand,” she responded. “What?” he asked. "There is a storm coming,” she said looking at him and he looked dumb folded. “But?” he muttered before she waved a dismissive hand at him.
