If you have well developed characters and solid dialogue the reader should be able to pull out almost any line and know who is speaking without looking at the tag (e.g. said Ralph). I think you know your characters; think about how each would sound and why. Then make another pass on dialogue

Lines like “What is the meaning of this?” And “What is that supposed to mean?” Feel too formal for what is happening here. Is this how you would expect anyone to speak to a sibling? You have a good story with an interesting twist on a familiar trope. But your dialogue needs to match.
