Selena’s POV

For a split second, he froze just as I did. Shock and some other emotions washed over me, as I could hardly believe what I was seeing. Gone was the ever-grinning playful co-worker who loved to hang off every woman at work. And instead, I was faced with something dark. Something that didn’t really see me but rather looked at me as if I was some sort of object…

As if I wasn’t even human!

Then suddenly his eyes went wide as he took me in. And at that moment, I realized that this was the first time he saw the real me. I never slept with Stella’s magic talisman since I didn’t have anything to hide from her.

Which right now was buying me time...

“Ew,” he sneered with a disgusted grimace and recoiled as his eyes flickered downwards to my protruding stomach. “You’re pregnant?!”

He said it was like I’d committed a crime or somethin

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 113: Wanted Mate

Selena POVMy fated mate--- was Rain’s twin brother?!How was that even possible?Coming to think of it, it probably wasn’t so very strange, because so many things made sense. Why I didn’t feel the mate-bond when we met again. Why I didn’t feel the mate-bond now…I was his brother’s fated mate! But I was also Rain’s mate?!His Second Chance?I’d heard stories about Second Chance Mates, but I’d never really given them much thought. I mean, my father had lost his mate, but he’d never gotten a second chance. But then again, maybe wolves who killed their mates didn’t get second chances…But it was the only thing that made sense. I was Rain’s Second Chance Mate. But I was also still Ryan’s mate, because we’d never really rejected each other – or accepted in this case?Shit!W

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 112: Ryan King (2)

Selean's POVMy jaw dropped, and only by the miracle of human physiology didn’t my eyes roll out of their sockets.Twin?!While twins were normal for humans, in the werewolf community, they were almost unheard of! Why?Well, there were a lot of theories, but nobody was entirely sure. The best the doctors could come up with was that werewolf twins “fought” for their mother’s nutrients in their mother in the womb. In the end, the stronger pup was fed more, leaving the other too weak to survive. Most werewolf twin pregnancies never made it past the first trimester. And if they did, it usually ended with one or both pups lost in the process…“A twin,” I echoed, as my brain was slowly catching up. “Rain, I’m so sorry---!”“We both lived!”Now THAT was the shock of the century…“Wh-what?!&

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 111: Ryan King (1)

Selena’s POV“Why can’t I feel the mate bond?” I asked Rain, turning to face him. He stilled, but only for a few seconds, before he continued to caress my hair, helping me brush it out and dry it off.But that only made ice form in my stomach!Rain always had an answer for everything. Hell, sometimes I worried that he didn’t truly listen to me, because he replied before I’d even finished speaking. He never went quiet about anything. Hell, I couldn’t remember the last time he went quiet about anything.“Is there…?” I asked, forcing my voice to remain calm and not give away the pit I felt in my stomach. “Is there something wrong with me?”Because what other logical conclusion could there be?I was only part wolf after all. And even then, I was so human that I didn’t even have a wolf spirit. Even omegas had more wolf-like qualities than I.So it had to be me, right?I had to be the problem...“No!”

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 110: Ordinary Feelings

Selena’s POVRain looked like his soul left his body, hearing his father’s name. He went so still, I wondered for a moment if he didn’t like that I’d named our son after him. I’d only ever heard great things about Mark King, the previous king of the werewolves. And I’d never heard Rain say anything bad about him either, so I more or less assumed that they had a good relationship...I sure as hell wasn’t naming him after my POS father! And Azul, because Rain loved calling me his “Azure Angel” because of my blue eyes…I opened my mouth to speak, but before I could, Rain reached out to his son, caressing him while he suckled at my breast, making little sounds of enjoyment.“Azul,” he whispered, his voice rough as if he was trying to hold back tears. “I like it!” He grinned, smiling down at me as if I’d hung the sun.“I like it a lot

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 109: Birth of a King

Selena’s POVRain quickly shook it off, but everyone there knew what had happened. Whispers were already spreading around the reinforced walls like wild seeds spreading in the wind.Yet I was too stunned to speak. But not in the good way that some might imagine! Was this it?!Was this what it felt like for humans when they met their mates?I was--- kind of disappointed. My mother had always told me that she felt the earth move when she met my father. That it felt like the sun, the moon, and the stars had aligned. But I didn’t feel--- anything!Nothing that I didn’t feel before, that is! Because the moment he strode over, shivers ran down my spine. His lips crashed to mine in a passionate, possessive claim, and a wave of relief flooded me, powerful enough to knock me off my feet. His arms wrapped around me like a safety blanket, finally letting me believe that all of this wa

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 108: Panic Room

Selena's POVThe heavy fireproof doors closed behind us, as we were the last ones to enter. I forced myself to remain calm and not let the fear take over. Luckily, another contraction rolled through me, a strange but welcome distraction.Stella guided me towards a set-up bed, where several of the omegas were helping to arrange a makeshift delivery nook, while others were trying to set something up for the two pups in the pack. I scanned the room and was happy to see Alisa – Joey’s mate – there with her son.“Alisa!” I exclaimed, waving the girl over. The small human female seemed shocked that I would talk to her, and walked over carefully as if she didn’t know if she should believe this or not. “How are you?”“Despite it all, I feel very safe,” Alisa replied with a shy smile. “I was never prioritized as anyone important back in my old pack. You know, just being human and al
