Third person's POV

"That old ass fuck really had the nerve to talk back to me?" Liam's voice was raw as he recounted what just happened to himself, his hands gripping the steering wheel so tight his knuckles had gone white. "After fucking sending people to murder my mum. After trying to kill Jackson. Fuck him. Fuck him and everything he stands for."

The words felt good coming out. Cathartic. Like lancing a wound that had been festering for fifteen years.

Liam drove without direction, just needing to move, to be anywhere but that FBI building with its concrete walls and his father's cold eyes. He ended up at a bar on the west side. The kind of place that didn't ask questions and served drinks strong enough to forget your name.

Inside, the lighting was dim. Red and blue neon casting everything in a hazy glow. A German bartender with a thick accent and arms covered in tattoos was serving drinks. Behind the bar, a stripper was working the pole, her body moving to music Liam couldn't quit

Third person's POV Jackson Maddox woke slowly, as if the world had to coax him back from the place where pain had been living under his skin. The hospital room appeared in soft squares of light that the morning sun coaxed through the blinds. His eyes fluttered, fighting gravity, fighting memory, fighting whatever fog the medication had wrapped around him. For a moment he did not know his own name. Then he saw Liam Sinclair sitting by the bed, his head bent, hands clasped, breathing like each exhale carried a prayer he was afraid to say out loud.A low sound came from Jackson. It was not quite a word, not quite a groan. Just a broken edge of voice. Liam jerked upright and blinked fast, the relief hitting him so strongly that his shoulders softened all at once.Doctor Patel, who stood by the monitor, gave a tiny nod. Janet, who had stationed herself beside the door like an overworked guard dog, whispered something that might have been Thank God.Jackson’s hand shifted on the blanket. L

Third person's POV She slid into the booth across from him. Didn't order anything."You have five minutes," she said, her voice clipped. Professional."Is Avery's baby Astor Sinclair's?" Liam asked directly, not wasting time on pleasantries.Viviana's expression didn't change, but something flickered in her eyes. "To correct something which you said on the phone. I'm not her personal assistant. I'm a maid working for her. Got that, sir?"Liam blinked. "Yes. I got that. But all the same, I can always think you are more than just a maid because you know more than her real personal assistant would know. You see things. You're there every day."He adjusted in his seat, leaning forward slightly. "I'm not telling you to start spying on her. But I want you to tell me about the baby."Viviana smirked at him. A small, knowing smile that made Liam's stomach tighten. "What about the baby, Mr. Liam?""That child isn't mine. All I want you to tell me is who you suspect might be the father of the

Third person's POV "Are recording everything. I know." Astor leaned forward, his eyes locked on Avery's face. "So let me be clear. You keep your mouth shut about our arrangement. But while sitting here in this cell, I kept my ass down and I thought about it, daughter-in-law. That baby of yours? I think we should make it public. I mean, I can't suffer alone."Avery's face went pale. "You're threatening me.""Nah. Me threatening my daughter-in-law? That would be stooping so low." Astor's smile was cold. Calculated. "But me sitting here in this cell while you walk around the city free when you're the one who brought the damned idea to remove Jackson so you could have Liam? That doesn't seem fair, does it?""You didn't do that because of me having Liam. You did it because you wanted the baby gone." Avery's voice was shaking but she held his gaze."But the situation is different here, isn't it?" Astor leaned back, studying her like she was a chess piece he was considering sacrificing. "I

Third person's POV Avery's face changed. The vulnerability that had been there moments before vanished, replaced by something harder. Sharper. She looked Liam directly in the eyes, her jaw set."I didn't make your father do anything," she said, her voice steady. Clear. "He made the decision himself. And I can't certainly control someone's big decision. That's on him. Not me."Her response was sharp. Reasonable even. The kind of answer that would hold up under cross-examination.But Liam wasn't buying it.He stood there, his chest heaving, trying to process everything crashing down around him. The hospital fluorescent lights felt too bright, burning into his skull. The air conditioning was too cold against his sweat-soaked shirt. His shoes felt loose on his feet, like he might float away at any second. Or collapse. One or the other. The devil was whispering in his ear. Telling him things he didn't want to hear. Things that made too much sense.Astor Sinclair had murdered his mother to

Third person's POV Within minutes, social media exploded.Twitter was on fire with speculation. Instagram stories were filled with screenshots of the talk show segment. TikTok had already spawned a dozen conspiracy theory videos, each more outlandish than the last.@BreakingNewsNYC: BREAKING: Sources confirm Astor Sinclair was arrested for murder of ex-wife Elizabeth Harlow and attempted murder of son's boyfriend Jackson Maddox. But the real question: Who's the father of Avery Maddox's baby? #MaddoxScandal@CelebGossipQueen: Let me get this straight. Astor killed his ex-wife, tried to kill his son's boyfriend, and now there are rumors he might be the father of his son's ex-fiancée's baby? I cannot make this up. #WTFMaddoxFamily@TruthSeekerDaily: Jackson Maddox said on that leaked recording that Liam isn't the father. So who is? My money's on someone in the Sinclair family. This is some Game of Thrones level drama. #WhosTheDaddyThe television networks picked it up next. Every entert
