5. The strange doctor

Episode 5

                   ANITA'S POV 

I have just finished watching the news when Anna walked into the house..

"Good afternoon" she greeted heading to her room..

"I just finished watching the news" I said  and she stopped immediately and moved closer to me..

"Okay! That's cool but what have that got to do with me?" She shrugged.

"I know you did it" I said with an arched brow..

"Do what?" She blinked her eyes.

"I know you are the one behind Mr.Phillip's death" 

"Oh my! What are you saying? I am innocent" she said with a baby face..

"Oh please! Stop your drama..You know you cannot fool me right?" I fired.

She hesitated.

"Okay Mrs investigator! You're right, I killed him"

"I knew it! As if killing him is not enough, you even went ahead to remove his eyes..Isn't that too harsh?"

"Harsh? No it isn't! Those people made me cry a river so it isn't bad if I make them cry out blood" she said without any sign of guilt..

I gave her a hard stare.

" Don't give me that look. It is not as if I am killing innocent people. I am only killing the bad ones" She shrugged.

"What are you turning into? You've succeeded in making that innocent lady a widow"

"Oh come on! Don't have pity on such people and you know what? I'm just coming from there..I went to send my condolences"

Did I just felt excitement in her voice? 

"And you are happy right? 

"Of course I am! So please don't ruin my happy mode with your lectures" she said, walking briskly to her room..

"Jeez! Why can't she understand that she's gradually turning into a monster all in the name of revenge" I muttered..

                   Nancy's POV 

I sat on the chair in my reading room, nervously waiting for the doctor..

I have an appointment with my doctor today, she's supposed to be here any moment from now..

Oh I forgot to introduce myself!

I am Mrs Nancy peters.

My husband, Mr peters is the CEO of peters enterprise and one of the share holders of the popular Don's limited.

We have been married for five years now and yet no issue..

Most of my friends are now mothers of three children while I am still struggling to get one. 

I'm tired of this shame and embarrassment! 

I will do anything to have my own child. Anything at all!

Just then, I heard a knock on the door..

"Who's there?" 

"It's me ma! The doctor is here" One of the maids said..

"Oh! Let her in"

" Yes ma!"

"Please Lord, I want to hear good news today" I silently prayed..

The door cracked open..

I looked up and was surprised to see another doctor.

"Hi! I am Phoebe, your new doctor" The lady said, stepping into the room.

I raised my eyebrows.

"What? What of doctor Angela?" I asked.

"I am sorry but she resigned due to some family issues" 

"Huh? But why didn't she inform me about it?"

"I am sorry ma but don't worry about that because i am here now" She said, smiling..

Strange! I spoke with Angela yesterday and she didn't mention anything about resigning.

Anyways, what matters right now is my infertility issues.

"Uhm..can you hear me?" The lady said bringing me out of my thoughts..

"Yeah..yeah..what did you say again?" I asked..

"After going through the scan, I think there's a possibility of you getting pregnant" she said.

I didn't even know when I jumped up to my feet..

"Wh..what? Did I just hear you correctly" I asked with wide opened eyes.

"Yes" she chuckled.  "There's a possibility of you getting pregnant"

My joy knew no bounds. I threw my hands open and hugged her in excitement.

"Thank you doctor! Thank you! This is the best news I've ever heard" I said hugging her tightly which made her coughed..

I broke the embrace and let out a nervous cough.

"Sorry..I was just carried away by my happiness" i chuckled.

"It's okay!" She giggled. "  I'll have to take my leave now. I have got things to take care of at the hospital"

" Okay. I'll tell my driver to drop you off" 

" Oh! No need for that. I came with my car. Thanks"

"Guess what honey?" I asked my husband as I adjust his tie..

"What is it? You know I'm not good at guessing" he said..

"Whatever! You're such a kill joy" I frowned and turned my back on him..

"Come on Nancy! Just tell me what it is."

He turned me, to face him.

"The doctor said there's a possibility of me getting pregnant" I excitedly said..

"Okay"

"Okay?? Is that all you can say? Or aren't you happy?" I asked surprised..

"Happy? What's there to be happy about? The doctor did not say you're pregnant, she only said there's a possibility of you getting pregnant"

My heart melted at his response..I couldn't stop my tears from dropping..

"Are you serious right now?"

"Of course I am! Get pregnant first and then you can come for us to celebrate it" he said and walked out with his brief case..

I stood there watching him go..My legs quivered as I slumped down..

M..my own husband doesn't even believe that I can get pregnant again.

What have I done to deserve this?

Why isn't life fair?

I've got all the riches I've ever wished for but still I'm unhappy..

"I want a child! A child!!" I cried breaking the glasses in my room..

I..need..to see the doctor..

"Felicia!!!!!!" I yelled..

After some seconds, she rushed in.

"Ma!!!" 

"Get me my phone!"

"Yes ma!!'

After a while, she came in with my phone.

I took it from her..

"What are you still waiting for? Get the hell outta here" I yelled as she quickly ran out..

I dialed the new doctor's number..

"Hello! Good morning ma" her voice popped up..

"Keep your damn greetings to yourself! Meet me now at the popular harmbouger's hotel" I half yelled..

"What?..but"

"Most importantly come with the scan result" I said and cut the call..

I grabbed my car keys and zoomed off..

           

                   Doctor Phoebe's POV

I quickly dressed up and rushed to the hotel..

When I got there, there was no sight of her..

Who the hell does this woman thinks she is to order me around?

I came out of the hotel, just then I saw someone waving at me from a car..

I took a proper look at the person..

And guess who it was?

The annoying queen..

I walked up to her..

"Hi!!" I faked a smile..

"Hi! Get into the car" she calmly said and opened the door..

I got in and sat down..

"This is the scan result" I said giving her the result..

"Oh thanks! I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you..I wasn't in my right state of mind" she said..

"It's okay! just as I said earlier,there's a greater possibility of you getting pregnant but your husband will have to come see me for some check up" I replied..

"Okay but is that necessary?"

"Yes it is! Or don't you wanna get pregnant?"

"Of course I do! When is the appointment?"

"6pm tomorrow"

"Okay! He'll be there"

"Cool! Lest I forget, this is a fertility drug - always take it once a day"

"Thanks..I'm so grateful"

"Oh come on! It's nothing"
