I stared at the back of the man who is now my current mate. I couldn't help but stare at his waist through the faded jeans he wore, at the way he moved his hips and waist in a steady motion. If only he had been half as kind to me as Davina said, I would never have thought about running away from him. I walked quickly because Ethan was fast in movement and I almost couldn't catch up with him. I don't know where he was taking me, but the thing I wanted to do at that moment was to worry myself to death. He might be planning to have me killed, tortured and punished. I don't know. One thing is certain though, and that was the fact that he heard what I said to Davina. He must know that I tried to escape. Ethan took me outside the pack and down to the training field. While we approached the training field, I noticed something disturbing. If my guess is correct, those things wrapped on the floor were probably corpses. The more we walked on the scene, the more awful I felt. The stench was
"So, this is the pack?""Yes, Lord Dane," Agnus said with a bow."What are we to do now, Lord Dane?"I stared at the pack for some seconds before taking my gaze back to Dane."I must keep a close eye on the pack.""W..what? Lord Dane, don't tell me you're planning to do this on your own?" Agnus asked."What do you think?""Please, not now. We all know witch Kora will not be happy about this," Agnus argued."Are you on my side or on Kora's?!" I snapped instantly.Agnus immediately fell on his knees with his head bowed."Lord, you can't say that, I'm always on your side and you know that. All these years, I've been on your side. I know what you want and I wish you could get that which you want.""Since you know what I want, do you think it is right for you to question my decision?""N..not at all, Lord. Your wish is always my command. Trust me, you'll be my only master in this life and in the life to come."I raised a brow at Agnus, and gestured for him to get up.I took another glance
Me, my beta and the pack elders were all having a meeting about the constant murder cases hovering around the pack. It was getting out of hand and a solution must be sought as soon as possible."Alpha, I don't think we will ever be able to solve this by capturing and killing a few enemies. We all know all those we captured and questioned about the person they are working for all committed suicide."One among the elders complained.I was greatly troubled. In fact, among all of the pack members, I suffered the most. These witches and warlocks were the same people who caused the death of my parents and made me and my siblings orphans from a very young age.The fact that I still wasn't able to get the leader was a torture for me. I needed to know those behind the deaths in my pack."Then, in a situation like this, what do you all suggest?""In the ancient law of the healers, it was said that when a deadly illness or poison affects a whole pack or clan, then another deadly poison should be
"Lord Dane, someone sent you a letter," my second in command, Arthur, informed me, carrying a sealed letter with a well presented logo on it. I couldn't help but be curious about who sent the letter or what the letter was all about. Arthur handed me the letter, which I quietly took from him. I waited for him to exit the room finally, before taking my gaze down at the letter. Just then, I saw the logo of the Crimson moon pack boldly written on it. Seeing the logo, I froze instantly, the only thing ringing in my head was her. I wondered why they sent me a letter. Could it be that they had seen me lurking around the pack recently. Could that be the reason for the letter? Perhaps they wish to know what I want. That can't be. I know how careful I was, it is really not possible for them to have recognised me. I slowly opened the letter, and began reading the contents of it. By the time I was through, I didn't know how to react, if I were happy or sad. This was just too much to digest.
Ever since I offered to help with pack duties, Alpha Ethan has never objected to anything I did. This way, I had the opportunity to go wherever I wanted around the pack. I worked with Davina on carrying out pack duties like getting supplies for the soldiers and assisting with cooking.Though Davina would always tell me not to get too involved with the pack's chores because I was the Luna and not a servant. Though she might be right, this is the part I chose. I wasn't expecting to be treated differently because I happen to be the Alpha's mate. In my former pack I was treated nothing like a servant but more like a slave. Also, Alpha Ethan never regarded me as his Luna for real, so why should I dwell on that?If I was to be asked, I would say he still hated me, though for reasons I still couldn't understand."Luna, have you heard?"I took a quick glance at Davina, not dwelling too much on what she was about to say, since I was busy carrying some supplies to the truck which we had just bo
I walked briskly to my room to get changed because I perspired and became uncomfortable. I worked all morning, and then I had to attend the meeting, which made it hard for me to change my clothes. Just as I was about to open my door, I felt that same pull, but this time, it was accompanied by a cold breeze which came with a mysterious light wind which blew my hair in the air.I quickly turned around, and prepared myself for an attack, just in case it was someone trying to harm me. To my greatest shock, it was none other than the man I saw in the hall, Lord Dane, the Warlock himself. He stood in a dark corner with his hands crossed on his chest while staring at me."I know you, but why do you sneak up on me that way?""My apologies, I shouldn't have taken you unaware," he slowly walked out of the dark corner where he his himself."I must say your alertness is second to none."I tilted my head, quite confused about what he was talking about."Don't tell me, the almighty Lord Dane sneake
"Lord Dane, this is almost a month we've been in the pack, don't you think it is time for us to start laying down our plants in the pack?" Agnus asked."Patient, it is still too early to do that. Remember, when planning such a thing, you've got to be careful about it. Though the Alpha might have been treating us nice since we are helping him with his enemies, you must not forget what happened years ago. Personally, I don't think the Alpha has forgotten that which happened to his parents. As much as we are wary of him, he's also wary of us. It wouldn't be a thing of surprise if it happens that he's also keeping an eye on us. One wrong move might put us in grave danger. We are in his pack and that gives him the best advantage over us. Do you understand?""Yes, Lord, Dane, I do understand you. But there's still a matter I'm worried about.""Spill!""It's Janice, I believe you've heard the story circulating around the pack about her and the Alpha. That is something impossible. I wonder h
"Do you have feelings for my daughter, Alpha?"Ethan took a glance in his direction. He looked obviously shocked. Probably wasn't expecting such questions from me. "If you put the question that way, I'm afraid I'll have to be blunt about it.""Please be blunt. I'm not asking as the warlock of the Blood Lake pack but as a father asking out of concern for his daughter. "I'll be honest with you then, Lord Dane. I must confess that your daughter is lovely. She's kind and resourceful, but then again, she's not the kind of woman I would want as my Luna."I felt a little hurt when the Alpha bombarded me with his honesty. "Oh, I see, but may I ask why you think my daughter is unfit for you?""She's not unfit, Lord Dane. Please don't get me wrong. The truth is, I have a mate, and she's here in the pack with me."I raised a swift brow at the information I had just received.I felt so relieved at the fact that he was already mated to someone else. This way, Janice wouldn't have the thought o
