His hand slides up her thigh, fingers tracing skin that burns hotter than any fever should allow. Then he stops. Leans close until his lips brush her ear."We should end it here."Ivy's eyes snap open, frustration bleeding through the haze. "Why?""Because I'm the danger you want to run from.""And if I don't want to run?"Kai pulls back just enough to meet her gaze. His eyes have gone dark, pupils dilated. "I'll ruin you.""Do it." "Let your darkness consume me. Take me. Own me."Valor roars inside his skull, clawing at his control. "Claim her. Mark her. Make her ours."But Kai's human side fights him, taking control. He closes his e

Elder Torren shifts, breath catching like it hurts to hold in. He tries to restrain himself and conceal the disbelief on his face.but Garren’s fixation snaps something loose in him.“This is madness,” he mutters, barely above a breath.Every head whips toward him. A single suspended heartbeat. No one blinks or even dares to breath because calling an Alpha’s command insane is the suicide everyone recognizes on instinct.Garren lifts his gaze slowly, the movement making the hairs on every neck rise.“Say it again.”Torren lifts his chin. Foolhardy. Brave. Doomed. “We’re draining the pack dry,” he fires back. “The southern villages can’t feed themselves. The western wells are dust.
