Debby's POV:

"We're here," Jay said softly as he opened the door to an apartment.

"Come on in," he said, then walked in with his hand still on the door to keep it open.

I hesitated but entered with the pup in my arms.

I still didn't understand why he refused to take me back to the beach house when it was my home. No matter what I said, his response was always the same: no.

He shut the door behind us, then moved closer and wrapped his arm around my shoulder while I looked around with a smile.

The place looked somewhat expensive yet very welcoming. The living room was like something out of a movie, and it made my heart beat rapidly.

"Whose apartment is this?" I asked seriously.

"Mine," he answered simply.

I looked at him seriously, giving him a cold glare. I wasn't joking around with him.
