CHAPTER SIX

Aurora's POV.

I’m still locked up in this God forsaken cell and I have blocked Aurther from mind linking me because he is going to know everything, even without me telling him.

The sound of the big ironing door opening snaps me out of my thoughts and I look ahead to see what’s going on. The orange lights which had been turned off all day suddenly come on and illuminate the room.

At the door stands one of the guards from yesterday.

He walks slowly towards me and throws some clothes in the air, causing them to fly and land a few meters before me on the ground. "Dressed up and leave". He orders with a stern voice.

I was happy before leaving home yesterday, but now I I was a complete mess and the only thing I felt in my heart was anger and bitterness for everyone in the royal section.

I don’t utter a word to him as I walk slowly to where he had thrown the clothes and pick them up, before returning back to my spot to I quickly put the clothes on.

I looked down at my shirt in pity, seeing how torn it is.

This sale guard literally ripped the shirt off my body yesterday with no mercy and that’s why it’s torn.

How was going to appear in front of my mother looking like this?

Moon Goddess, this is where I need your help.

I clutch my hands around my body trying to get some warmth. I have been in the cold for too long. I cannot even make steady steps. I kept staggering along the way and the fact that I have not eaten for close to two days only makes matters worse.

I know my wolf, Mia, must be hungry too.

"Yes I am. But you have to take care of yourself first, before thinking about me.” Mia cautions and I can feel her concern. Right now, we both feel rejected and abandoned by our mate.

As I stagger out of the dungeon, my eyes are welcomed by the darkness outside. I have been stuck inside for a day and did not realize that it was dark outside.

"Make sure not to disobey any of the school rules, or else your next punishment will be even more excruciating." The guard threatens, but I don’t have the energy nor the time to listen to him so I just just ignore him and walk away.

I hurry through the school courtyard which is now quiet and calm and the only lights that can be seen are the security lights at the entrance of the school gates.

"You're tired!” Mia states. “Do you want me to take control so that we can get home quickly?" She asks in my head with a sad tone as we step out of the school gate.

I look at the trees that line up the side of the road. They are tall and standing as though they were carefully placed. I look ahead of us and my mind darts back to the cave. I had left some clothes there yesterday with the intention of passing by to take them, before going home, but as it is now, I don't see any chance of going back there.

"Let's go home Mia.” I tell her in a very weak tone and with immediate effect, she pushes in front of me, taking complete control and I can feel my bones cracking and soon, she finally takes control.

She is now standing on four limbs shaking her furr and sniffing the ground.

"Clear.” She mutters before sprinting off from where we were standing.

She is at high speed as she takes over the road and passes some torn bushes. The wind brushes against her soft fur and dry leaves crying as she brutally steps on them.

In less than no time, we arrive at our house which is at the outskirts of the pack.

Mia stops at the backyard for me to shape shift back into my human form. My mother always hangs clothes outside on the line for this purpose. I drag a trouser and t-shirt from it and hastily put it on before stepping into the house. Luckily enough, the door to my room is in the backyard.

Our house has two main entrances. You can either decide to use the front or the back door.

I have to use the back door right now so as to prevent my mother from seeing how messed up I looked. It would give her a heart attack.

I look around to make sure no one is watching me and when I’m sure that everywhere is clear, I push open the old wooden door and enter the corridor. My room is on the left side, so that is easy.

When I get inside, I gently close the door behind me and lean on it. An exasperated sigh escapes my lips and I thread my fingers through my hair, making it a lot more disheveled than it already is.

“What a day!” I exclaim in frustration as I drag myself to my bathroom to take a shower.

After my bath, I come back to my bedroom and dress up in a loose black nightgown.

As I think of what I’m going to tell my mother tomorrow, Arthur comes to mind as well and I decide to mind-link him to come to my aid and just then, I hear a knock on my door.

I gulp dryly out of nervousness and my hand flies over my chest. My heart is throbbing violently in it.

“Who's there?” I asked, trying hard to keep my voice steady. It’s not even like I have the strength to shout.

"Aurora, it’s me, Arthur.” Author’s familiar voice whispers from outside. I close my eyes and let out a deep breath of relief, before extending my hand forward to turn the doorknob.

When I open it, he is standing there, with his right hand on the door frame and the other in a sling. His coffee brown hair is a complete mess and has a swollen eye.

My eyes shoot open in shock as fear takes over my body and mind.

"What in the world happened to you, Arthur? Why are you badly hurt like this?" I ask as I go close to him and try to touch him, but he takes a step back and away from me.

He is definitely mad at me.
