Chapter 61

GAVIN

As I had predicted, the conversation with Elder Garett did not go the way I wanted it. He informed me and the Alpha that Alia´s attempt to reject me was the reason her wolf died. In the history of mate rejection, the human and his or her wolf should have shared the sorrow and pain that accompanies the rejection. But it was possible that Sky absorbed all the pain to protect Alia.

I was still baffled because the rejection wasn´t successful.

Elder Garett said he didn´t have an answer for that. But he assumed Alia's wolf was aware that her human was fragile and would not survive the ordeal.

My heart was pounding and my hands were clenched the entire time he spoke. He continued pointing out Alia's weakness as the reason for her wolf's death. But who should I hold accountable? Alia? Caspian? Or her Father? Everyone who kept her guarded and vulnerable?

I had no use for the past anymore, and blaming anyone would not bring her wolf back.

Here´s for today, just a little sneak preview of the full moon... However, I will be late (really late) in uploading for tomorrow since we have some volunteering at my daughter´s school for a Christmas event. If I can´t upload tomorrow, I will give you 2 chapters early the next day (Saturday). Thank you for sticking with us and for your kind words, and of course those lovely GEMS. The Beta is Mine is on #2 at the moment for New Gems, alongside great books and authors! So thank you from the bottom of my 'werewolf' heart! :) xoxo, Cassandra M
