Let’s be friends?

They both sat in the car, waiting for the bus. Chris had wanted to leave but Alex stopped her, telling her to wait till the bus arrived. So while they both waited, an air of awkwardness filled the car. Neither was saying anything.

They both had nothing to say to each other. Both had a lot on their heads but nothing in their mouths so they sat there, each sorting the mass of confusion in their minds.

Christine sat, turning her face to the open window. The night breeze and wind from each passing car seemed to help her ease down. She looked at the stars in the dark hue of the sky and cursed her sympathy for offering to go with Alex to his house.

She cursed herself for sleeping off in his house.

Ruth had been frequenting his house lately, what if she had found her there? What would Ruth have felt?
