The morning begins quietly, too quietly for Luke’s taste. The sunlight filters softly through the large windows of his study, landing on the papers scattered across his desk. He’s been awake since dawn, unable to rest since his meeting with Carmen.

Her words still echo in his head.

“Her parents aren’t even her real parents.”

Luke clenches his jaw, his hand tightening around the pen he holds. No one should’ve known that. No one except him and maybe one or two people from a long time ago. Yet somehow, Carmen had gotten her hands on pieces of the truth.

That means someone is leaking information. Someone from his own network.

He picks up his phone and dials a number he hasn’t called in months. The line rings twice before a low, firm voice answers.

“Mr. Luke?”

“Daniel,” Luke says calmly, though his tone holds quiet tension. “I need you to find something for me. It’s about Carmen.”

“What do you need, sir?”

“I want to know how she got her hands on personal information about Abigail’s past,”

I WILL DEAL WITH HER MY SELF...Morning sunlight poured through the wide glass windows of the mansion, casting golden streaks on the marble floor. Birds could be heard faintly outside, their soft chirping blending with the quiet hum of the city awakening.Abigail sat on the edge of the bed, brushing her hair slowly. The mirror before her reflected a calm face, though her eyes held the faint shadows of the night before. The encounter in the park still echoed in her thoughts Carmen’s cold words, Obetta’s threat, the way her hands had trembled only after they left. She had told herself to forget it, to act like nothing had happened. But pretending was harder than she expected.Luke entered the room quietly, already dressed in a crisp shirt and dark trousers. His steps were silent, but Abigail caught his reflection in the mirror and turned to smile faintly.“You’re up early,” she said softly. He gave a small nod. “I had a call from one of the company’s managers. Just wanted to check on so

I WANT PEACE..The air in Crescent Park that evening carried a strange stillness, the kind that made even the rustling leaves sound too loud. The fountain in the middle of the park shimmered under the soft light of the street lamps, its water glinting like silver threads. Abigail stood a few feet away, hands pressed lightly against her coat. She looked around. The park was quiet, almost empty, except for a few shadows stretching across the stone path. Her phone showed 6:45 p.m. fifteen minutes early. She had come alone, just as the message instructed. Her heart beat quietly but steadily. She had rehearsed a dozen questions in her head, yet none of them seemed to matter now. The only sound was the fountain’s gentle splash. Then, footsteps.Abigail turned sharply, her eyes narrowing as two figures approached from the path behind the rose bushes. When they came closer, she froze.Carmen.And beside her Obetta.Carmen wore a sleek black coat, her hair neatly pinned, her steps calm and del

THE UNKNOWN MESSAGE..The afternoon sunlight filtered softly through the curtains of the sitting room. Abigail sat curled on the couch, scrolling lazily through her phone. A tray of tea sat on the center table, untouched, its steam fading slowly. The house was quiet, too quiet, except for the faint chirping of birds outside.Maya walked in, her handbag slung over her shoulder, a thoughtful look on her face. Abigail turned toward her with a small smile.“You’ve been gone longer than I expected,” Abigail said gently. “Did your meeting go well?”Maya hesitated for a moment before sitting down beside her. “It wasn’t a meeting,” she said slowly. “I met someone… accidentally.”Abigail blinked, setting her phone down. “Someone?”Maya nodded. “Oscar Dixon.”Abigail’s eyes widened slightly. “Oscar?” she repeated. “You mean Luke’s business acquaintance?”“The same,” Maya confirmed, exhaling softly. “I ran into him at a café this morning.”Abigail leaned forward a little, curiosity brightening h

IT'S RARE...The morning sun was bright but gentle, casting soft rays through the tall glass windows of the city café. The faint smell of roasted coffee and baked pastries filled the air, mixing with the quiet hum of people talking and typing away on laptops.Maya sat at a corner table, sipping her caramel latte while checking her messages. She had come to the café to wait for a client, but the person had just texted to cancel. She sighed lightly and leaned back in her chair, deciding to enjoy her coffee before heading home.“Seems the morning didn’t go as planned,” a calm, familiar voice said from behind her.She turned quickly and there stood Oscar Dixon, looking perfectly composed in a navy-blue suit, his hazel eyes warm under the sunlight.“Oscar?” she said, surprised. “What are you doing here?”He smiled easily, holding a small cup of espresso. “I could ask you the same. I didn’t expect to find you here.”“I had a meeting that got canceled,” she replied, smiling politely. “So, I

The evening breeze was soft and cool, brushing lightly against the flowers that lined the walkways outside Luke’s wide estate. The sun was setting slowly, spreading an orange glow across the sky. Abigail and Maya strolled side by side, enjoying the calmness that came after a long, busy day.Abigail sighed softly. “It feels good to just walk like this. No work, no calls, no noise just peace.”Maya smiled. “You need it. You’ve been working nonstop lately, Abby. Even your ‘relaxing days’ are full of planning.”Abigail laughed lightly, swinging her small purse in one hand. “You sound like Luke.”“Well, he’s right. You never slow down.”They both laughed, their voices blending with the rustling of the trees nearby. The guards following behind them at a short distance kept silent, dressed casually but alert. Luke had given them strict orders: “Stay close, but don’t make her uncomfortable. Report everything.”Abigail knew the guards were there Luke had told her gently that it was “just for h

NOBODY IS TAKING YOU FROM ME...The evening sun was fading slowly, painting the windows of the mansion with soft gold. Abigail stood in front of the mirror, adjusting her dress before they left for dinner. Luke leaned on the doorframe, his eyes quietly watching her every move. He had been quiet all afternoon, his thoughts spinning round and round, but he didn’t want to let her know that anything was wrong.“Are you ready?” she asked, turning around with a bright smile. Her voice always softened something in him, even when his chest felt tight.“Yeah,” he said with a small nod, pushing himself off the wall. “You look perfect.”She laughed softly, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. “You always say that.”“Because it’s always true.”He walked to her, his steps slow, careful. When he reached her, he placed a hand gently on her waist, feeling the warmth of her skin through the fabric. She tilted her head to look up at him, her smile fading a little when she saw his eyes.“Luke,” she s
