CHAPTER FORTY-SIX.It took a while for Adele to calm down and stop herself from crying. Jamal was ruining her entire life for her and she hated it. He was making it impossible for her to do anything in life without him getting involved. First, she lost her unborn child, then later she found out that her chances of ever conceiving again were very slim and now Jamal had made sure she was fired from her work place. He had also made sure no publishing firm in the country was ever going to hire her again.He was like an evil shadow lurking in the corners, following her everywhere she went.An evil shadow that brought her nothing but bad luck."Damn!" She screamed in agony as she hit the steering wheel countless times, shaking her head, caring less about the fact that her hair was turning into a hot mess.She was angry and frustrated at the same time.The same man she had been avoiding for the past year was back in her life to torment her and there was sadly nothing she could do about it.

CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN.Adele arrived at the conglomerate at exactly eight am. The moment she got out of the car, the valet showed up and she gave her car keys to him. She looked up at the mighty skyscraper standing before her and she didn't know whether to frown or smile. Jamal was definitely doing well for himself, but he was ruining her life in every possible way.She stepped into the lobby and was awed by how quiet and organized the place was. There were men dressed in black at every corner of the lobby. They were surely security personnels. She thanked her stars for having dressed properly that morning. Everyone looked glamorous and elegant. "Adele Mackenzie." She heard a female voice call her name and she immediately froze on her tracks and looked around, totally confused. Her heart was racing in her chest. "Behind you." The voice signaled. Adele turned around and her gaze fell on a well dressed woman, probably in her early forties who was staring at her with a blank expression.

CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT.Three men and three women, including Grace, were standing before Adele with their heads bowed down. The others had no idea why they had been summoned, but Grace knew and she was trembling on her spot.Adele stood far beside the window while Jamal walked to the center of the office to meet them. "Grace, what was the instruction I gave yesterday concerning Miss. Mackenzie?" CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO.The time on Adele's wrist watch read five pm, which was her closing time and she couldn't be any happier. Her first day of work had been a very hectic one.
