CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE.One week later."I'm sorry Mr. King, I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen." Jamal's secretary apologized as she rushed into Jamal's office and shortly after, Danielle waltzed in looking all furious. CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX.Jamal drove straight home from Adele's apartment. He was still greatly shaken by the divorce papers she had sent to him. His heart was still palpating hard in his chest.He had known she would think of filing for a divorce, but he didn't know it would be so soon. The fact that Adele was so mad at him to the extent that she wanted to divorce him left him completely devastated.He loved Adele and he wanted to be with her. He knew he had made a lot of fatal errors, but he was ready to change his ways and do all he could to amend things between them. CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN.Adele had her last hospital appointment at the hospital that morning. The doctor told her she was totally healed and could go on with her physical activities. She was very happy to get the news. She was already sick and tired of coming to that hospital especially as Jamal was the one responsible for paying her medical bills. After her check up sessions, they never asked her for any money, the total bills were always forwarded to Jamal who would pay without any hesitation.As she exited the hospital lobby, her cell phone rang in her bag and she quickly fished it out to see who it was. CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT.After a long day of attending meetings, signing documents and making sure everything in the conglomerate was going on well, it was finally closing time and Jamal couldn't wait to get out of his office. He was feeling tired, so he didn't drive himself. He let his driver and a guard take him home.As they hit the road, he thought of going to see Adele, but on a second thought, he decided to dismiss the idea. They had separated that morning on a very bad foot and he didn't want to get her anymore upset that day. When she told him she was going to spend time with friends, he was happy. CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE.Adele's work at the publishing agency was no different from what she used to do back at her first job site. She had her office and was in charge of editing and reviewing articles before they were published to the media.She loved her job and her new colleagues. They warmly welcomed her and most of them fell in love with her rich British accent. Sometimes, they asked her questions just so she could talk to them so they could hear her beautiful accent.She loved everything about the workplace and looked forward to helping them grow. The time read eight pm and she was just returning from work.There was so much work at the office and they all had to work overtime. The good thing was that the next day was Saturday, weekend and she did not have to go to work.
