Layla's POV

“Who is here?” I asked, biting my nails, but already knowing the answer to what I asked.

He looked at me with the same cold eyes, but something was different in his gaze, not hatred or desperation for revenge, but something I couldn’t seem to explain and put my hands on.

I was trying to figure it out when the car was suddenly pushed forward.

I jolted forward, causing my head to make an impact, my head spun, and I felt a trickle of blood dripping from my forehead.

Dominic Foster turned to look at me, and I saw a cold glint in his eyes.

What was that about? I still had other things to think about, like my life was in danger, the realization dawned on me, I started anxiously gripping the door handle and trying to get out.

Dominic Foster suddenly gripped my hand.

“Stay still,” his voice, low and calm, managed to calm me down, but I’ll never admit it.

The car was still tailing us, Dominic Foster was making maneuvers, and the car suddenly crashed into us, making our car fly into the sky.

I could have sworn l had seen stars, blood trickling from my forehead.

I turned to look at Dominic Foster, who had already passed out, and he had a head injury.

I had a feeling his injury was serious.

I thought about leaving him to die, but I still needed him, so I reluctantly half-carried and half-dragged him to the hospital.

I called Xander to inform him, and I was called to get my injury treated.

What a day!

When applying iodine to my injury, it stung, and I forced my tears with great willpower.

I sat down, waiting for Dominic Foster to regain consciousness.

I wondered what could have happened years ago to make Dominic Foster despise Raina Ross so much, even my dad was involved.

I laughed at my foolishness. All my life, my dad had never acknowledged me. I was sent away at a young age I was never aware of the reason.

My dad simply said, “She was destined to be better than me.”

I never understood the reason.

My sister also hated me, and didn’t want people knowing we were related and made me wear a face mask, making people think I was ugly.

I got admission into a prestigious university, and I had to give it to her.

All I ever did was sacrifice my happiness for her.

Now, I’m living with her lunatic of a husband.

She entangled me in a love triangle and pushed me into the mess she created herself.

I touched my face and felt wetness. I couldn’t believe it. I was crying, and no matter how I tried to stop it just flowed out even more.

I, Layla Ross, was crying, and this was my limit. After this, no one is ever going to push me around, not even Dominic Foster.

I had to keep searching for Raina. I don’t know if she is even still alive or if she’s been kidnapped.

The only thing I know for sure is that I’m going to find out.

An hour later, I went to Dominic Foster’s ward. I was about to thank him for saving me.

But Maisie white barged in, my eyes went dark. If there was anyone I hated more than Dominic Foster, it would be Maisie White.

Pretentious snake, I thought with clenched hands, I felt my nails digging under my palm.

“You witch,” she suddenly shrieked at me.

I stared at her, not giving her a moment of my time. I was about to thank Dominic Foster when I felt an intense pain on my cheek.

The realisation dawned on me, Maisie white slapped me.

I stared with my eyes wide open. Maisie slapped me. Did she think I was Raina? I laughed. I was going to make her pay dearly.

I had been too nice lately, with Dominic and Maisie stepping all over me, am done with the pretense of being weak.

From now on, all they were going to see was the real Layla Ross. I glanced at Dominic, who seemed to be watching this amusingly, and I laughed at myself.

He didn’t care at all. I was being beaten and humiliated, and he seemed pleased with what she had done.

“It seems you all need a lesson not to mess with me.” My voice sounded like it carried the weight of life and death.

“What are you going to do?” Maisie scoffed.

“You will soon find out,” my voice sounded like a death sentence.

I stormed out.

As I walked out, I already had a plan in mind; I was going to teach them a lesson. If needed, one of my identities would be revealed, and I didn’t mind if it involved teaching them a lesson. I would gladly reveal one more.

I was sure looking forward to the look on their faces.

I was tired of planning for nothing; tomorrow would be the execution.

An hour later,

After concluding on what to do, I stepped into the bathroom for a refreshing bath. I was happy knowing I’ll be hearing the screams of my enemies tomorrow.

I went to my safe, and in it were identities I had sworn never to use.

Well, there is a first time for everything, I thought.

I spent hours formulating a chemical to make Maisie unrecognizable.

I slept soundly and woke up in the middle of the night and sneaked into Maisie’s room and sprayed the chemical on her.

I hopped to my room, with a smirk.

I will deal with Dominic Foster soon.

Later in the morning, I launched a virus that made Dominic Foster’s stocks plummet rapidly.

It wasn’t enough to make the richest man poor, but it was oddly satisfying.

While I was sitting at the breakfast table, I noticed Dominic Foster biting his nails and sweating profusely.

I felt accomplished, then Maisie’s voice rang in my ears.

Let the game begin!

“Raina Ross! You did this, didn’t you?” she interrogated me.

I didn’t plan on hiding the fact that I did it.

“Yes, I did, I told you yesterday, didn’t I?” I said, mocking her.

“How dare you!” She suddenly jumped to grab me, but I skillfully dodged, making her fall.

And now for the main event.

I saw Dominic Foster striding in, exuding an air of superiority, too bad he was a jerk, I thought.

“Dominic Foster, I want a divorce!” I screamed at the top of my lungs.

  • THE BRIDE HE NEVER CHOSE   You seem familiar

Layla’s POVI stopped in my tracks. What was I forgetting? Realizing he may be pulling my leg, I masked my expression and turned and giving him an expressionless gaze. He seemed shocked by the coldness radiating from me. If I could, I would have strangled him to death. I stared at him for a long time, and he finally opened his mouth to speak. “Raina… I … I’m…” his stuttering was getting on my nerves. I snorted and left. It was past midnight, and I kept tossing and turning, thinking where Raina could be. I was tired of living her life. I was in a miserable state when I heard a knock at the door. I mumbled lazily and went to open the door. My eyes were barely open. “Madame” Hara’s voice made me widen my eyes. “Yeah.. what do you want?” I yawned lazily. “Thanks for saving me, even though I framed you,” she said with tears gathering in her eyes. “I knew you didn’t do it out of your own free will, it wasn’t your fault,” I said, trying to soothe her. “I know it’s
