I slowly came to as I heard voices murmuring in the distance. I was completely wrapped in the room's darkness, and for a brief moment I was unsure of where I was. The ringing at the back of my head felt unbearable and I was struggling to remember exactly what had happened. It all felt like a blur to me but one thing that I was sure of was I had been hit at the back of my head and then I went down.Slowly the memories began to come back to me as my mind began to clear, crashing like a tsunami into my consciousness. In that moment my heart I could feel my body become twice its normal weight and it felt like I was being weighed down by the burden I had felt barely some minutes before I woke up.It dawned on me, a ruthless knowledge that pierced my heart like a blade. DIEGOI felt the pain before I heard the sound of the gunshot. I knew what had happened but for a brief moment I was in denial. The meeting had been raging on for the past 10 mins with just business being discussed and nobody going straight to why they were all gathered here even though they all knew exactly what the meeting was for.With every passing minute Alejandro’s irritation grew, it was evident from the way his legs vibrated underneath the table and despite Mateo’s gentle “calm down” whispers in his ear it still didn’t seem to change anything. The massive explosion shook the entire building to its core and sent Mateo falling down the stairs. People were running around in all directions trying to make their way to the exit for fear of the building coming down.
