His jaw clenched. Gold bled into his eyes. Through the bond, I felt his wolf surge. Furious. Protective. Ready to hunt.

“We’re leaving,” he said. Voice tight. “Tonight. The beach trip. We’re going now.”

“We can’t run from this.”
