I swallowed awkwardly and Mr Winston was glaring at a piece of furniture.

Okayyyy... Um...

"I... I think..."

"Don't make this any more awkward than it needs to be, Maddison." He said coldly, his hands, digging into the pockets of his pants, his shoulders relaxed and equally tensed, "let's just find you a pair of shoes."

My heart dropped to my stomach.

I went to an isle that had caught my eyes previously and began looking at designer shoe collections.

I found a pair of Swarovski studded stilleto pumps and nearly squealed in excitement. Perfect. This is perfect.

Mr Winston looked from over my shoulders and clicked his tongue. "That's several sizes too short."

I frowned at him. "No, it's not."

"Try it on for yourself," he shrugged.
