The silence in the car as we drove over to Austin's house did not bother me. I did not know how I was even going to tell him. I was pregnant.

I didn't know how he was going to react. I knew what my choices were but they were not what I wanted.

I had never been in such a position before so I had no idea what to do. I had never even thought I would get pregnant, to begin with.

I had turned into what I had hated. I had turned into my mum and I hated that discovery.

It wasn't like she wasn't a good person or a good mum, she was just sad. She had spent all her life being a mum and I did not want to be her.

We were her everything it was as if her life revolved around us. We were all she knew and I sometimes wondered what would have happened if she had never gotten pregnant with me.

I always wondered what her life was like in another lifetime. Did she get to pursue her dreams and get everything she always wanted?
