Shit Together

Chapter 8

Bennett could have sworn that he had wanted to leave her there.

He had promised himself to let her shit out of his head and somehow she was still fucking bringing herself back.

He hated it.

Earlier when she had touched him.

Fuck his soul for shuddering for a woman's touch.

It had sent electricity down his body and for a moment he had forgotten that he was cold.

But then he had warned her to get her hands off.

When he had walked down and saw her standing there and shivering.

He was stunned for the few minutes he had stood and watched her.

He sighed, staring out the rain as he watched Andrew bring her to the car with the small umbrella he was made to fit both of them.

The car opened and she got in the side.

"Thank you." She mumbled and he nodded.

Hell, he didn't want to help her.

He didn't even want anything to attach himself to her.

"About the...

"We'll talk about any business tomorrow in my office." He said, cutting her off.

This was what he hated.

She would take every chance to talk to him.

Was she even aware of the things she does? He shook his head and looked out again.

She hissed loudly, scrambling her bag and grabbing her phone.

"Yes, there's no need to come anymore Ryan, I'm already coming home." She said to the person on the other side of the line.

Ryan? Home?

That was right, there was nothing on the internet that said she had a boyfriend or any info about that shit.

Maybe she did, but secretly.

Fuck! He had been ogling another man's woman!

"Andrew drives faster, I'm suffocating here." He muttered.

Bennett sighed, as he walked into the Penthouse.

He frowned when he saw two men on the couch, eating pizza as if they were at their home.

"What the fuck are you two doing?" He asked, his voice low but dangerous.

"Hi, Ben." A man stood up and walked to him, patting his shoulder.

"We've been waiting for you." The other said, still eating the pizza that was on the table.

"Did you hack my door, Barry?' He asked the smaller one who nodded with a smile.

"There was no need to hack anyway, remember I made those locks?" He winked at him and stood up as well.

"Why are you both here?" Bennett asked, dropping his suitcase on the couch.

He was tired as hell.

He was finally done with the other problems at work and now they had to fly back to give him a headache?

"We flew back to the country, as soon as we heard that Stone's Corp had a model..a very rare thing." The other burst into laughter.

He froze, his hands leaving his face as he glared at the one named Barry.

"Don't look at me, we heard it and we saw her images." Barry shrugged and winked again.

"We needed one for some business strategy, nothing more nothing less," Bennett said, and sighed.

"Just business?"

"What the fuck do you mean by just business Jace?"

"I mean don't get me wrong, many begin with pleasure before getting down on business," Jace said, licking his fingers that had pizza paste on them.

"She has a boyfriend."

Both men in the room blinked their eyes at the man that looked tired.

Their jaw dropped and their eyes widened.

"Let me get this straight, you like her but you can't have her because she has a boyfriend?" Barry asked.

They both stared at each other before bursting into laughter.

Bennett sighed.

He already knew the shit he was getting himself into.

They were both Idiots with no brains and discussing with them was something he was not ready to do.

"You both came here for business, meet me in my office when you're ready." He mumbled, grabbing the suitcase and leaving the room.

"He did get rejected?"

"That's how they seem bro.

Octavia was sure he had said something bad under his breath after she had finished making the phone call.

He was acting like a douchebag and she cared less.

She shook her head as the thought came rushing in again.

"Still thinking about the mysterious guy?"

"There's nothing there to think of." She smiled and got back to her food.

There was everything to think of.

She had never really had a thing for that stuff called first love but hell..she knew she was attracted to him.

She was attracted to her Boss, but not her Boss.

"You have to come to the company tomorrow, the Japanese Investors asked to see the Boss herself."

"Don't get me wrong Sofia, you're doing good yourself..just take care of them," Octavia mumbled, staring at the food as if studying it.

"No, I want you to come. They employers but have forgotten who the hell is their Boss, so come tomorrow and solve some of the problems, so I'd clear my part of the shit. It's not my company but yours." Sofia hissed.

Octavia scoffed, rolling her eyes as she stood up from the huge table that could comfort more than ten for dinner.

She grabbed the glass of milk and left the room.

"Where is Shirley?" She turned to ask, tilting her head to look for her female guard.

"Went home, says she needs a little distraction from the work. You make her work boring."

"I don't make her work boring, she should be grateful that I am a simple person who doesn't need many guards to move around the country like a thief..just like Bennett," Octavia mumbled her first foot on the stairs.

"You've included his name again, for the last few words we've been sharing right now.. he's name has been on every single word. Don't get me, the wrong darling, I'm just making sure you're okay." Sofia flashed her teeth.

Octavia rolled her eyes again, taking another step..till she was out of the living room to her room.

Surely this was not going well for her!
