Cold

Chapter 7

His head was down, as the heavy rain came down, pouring down on the plants, the soil and the cemented tomb.

He was already at the cemetery and his eyes gleamed with tears.

He was sad.

Although his parent had passed away in a cruel way, he had held strong.

Kept his shirt together and he had made his parents proud even in he grave.

He could still recall the day clearly as if it had only happened yesterday.

Flashback...

"Ben.. it's raining, don't go out!" His mother had yelled but he had refused to Listen.

Being a stubborn little brat, his father had made him realize it was better to face his fears rather than ran away from it and he did just that that night.

He was six years old that night.

With his gloves on, he had rushed out to fight with his step brother who had crushed his birthday cake.

"I'm going to kill him Mom." He yelled, as he rushed out to the rain, running after the other young boy.

His mother had ran after him as well, leaving the mansion as the head to the main road.

And that was the same moment his father's car had appeared.

And the accident took place, in the cold rainy night.

His birthday!

Present.....

A sob tore out of his throat and he clenched his fist.

It was all his fault..he caused it all!

He cried, cleaning his eyes and standing up.

He walked out of the cemetery and to the car.

"Sir." His secretary gave a bow and handed over a coat as he came out with an umbrella.

"You'll catch a cold." He mumbled and he nodded.

"Hmm." Bennett nodded, as he grabbed the coat and got in to the car.

The rain poured heavily on the grounds and the roads of New York.

"Where to Sir?"

"To the Penthouse." He asnwered and sighed.

He looked out of the window, his eyes darkening as a lot of things got in to his head.

His parents were dead, he was an orphan and he was going to make some people suffer.

He sneezed and rubbed his fore head.

Damn! He had gotten a cold.

"Head over to the company, I have to get something." He sneezed again and Andrew nodded.

Being the driver of Bennett Stone, he had come to realize that a lot of things were kept unspoken.

And just like his Boss he had learnt to know when to talk.

He turned the car swiftly and headed for the company as he was told to.

* * * * *

Octavia sighed.

She didn't Know what she was still doing there but then she had to complete the damn paper.

She was left alone in the huge Company, although the securities were still roaming about...she didn't feel like leaving.

It was already getting dark, although the sky had a little light in them.

"Ma'am, we'll be locking up in Thirty minutes." One of the security said and she nodded.

She picked her bag, stuffed the files in her bag and headed for the elevator.

She pressed the first button but it seemed as if someone was coming up.

She frowned.

The securities only used the stairs so they would find some workers in the building...who was coming then and to top it, it was the elevator for Bennett.

She didn't know what to call him.

Bennett, Boss or just Sir?

Any would be okay, right?

The elevator opened and her frown deepened.

What was he doing here? He was yet to come out and he had not seen her.

He was busy with his cellphone till she cleared her throat.

"Bennett." She called.

She saw him tense and he looked up.

"Miss Octavia? What are you still doing here?" He asked, and she shrugged.

"I was working some stuffs out and i forgot about time and all." She lied.

Honestly she was waiting for him to come get the paperwork but then she had concluded that he would not come since it was already late.

"What about you? Why are you back?" She asked, and he shrugged.

"To pick something." He made to pass by but she raised her hand and placed it on his forehead.

Octavia had seen his pale face and it was unlike him.

Did he walk in the rain while there were thousand of umbrellas for him to use?

"Your temperature is high." She gasped, with her eyes wide open.

He frowned, hitting her hand away and walking pass her.

Octavia scoffed. Yes, she had once fancy being a doctor and she had taken some lessons.

And this jerk was taking her caringness for nothing.

She rolled her eyes, getting in to the elevator.

She pressed the last button and went down.

She was not going to bother herself with a jerky Boss?

He was not even her Boss, she was just a a model not an employee.

Her phone rang and she picked it up quickly.

"Octavia, where are you?" Shirley asked, and she sighed.

"Stone's Corp, where are you?" She asked, and the woman at the other side of the line hissed..

"I'm at home, where else."

"I'll be back soon."

Octavia walked out of the Company and stood beside the small shade that covered her from the heavy downpour of rain.

She shook her head, as she watched the rain down the road and the glasses.

Surely the day would not go well for her.

She shook her head and bit her lips, waiting for a miracle so she would go home.

"Get in." She heard the familiar voice say.

She turned and frowned.

"Get in where? I don't see a car nearby." Her answer was sharp like a blade.

"It's by the roadside, walk under the rain there or sleep here." He mumbled again and walked away, under the rain to his car.

She blinked her eyes, that was a very long distance and she would not take that chance.

She rolled her eyes, seeing that they car had been ignited and ready to move but then it stopped and she squinted her eyes to see some one leave the car with an umbrella coming towards her.
