No one in Bennett's office moved.

"...we can hear someone breathing on the other side."

Detective Bennett's grip tightened around his phone.

"Is the building secure?"

"Yes, sir."

"No one has entered or left since we arrived."

"Keep everyone away from that door."

"I'm on my way."

He ended the call and looked at Damian, Nathan and Adrian.

"We're leaving. Now."

Less than twenty minutes later, several police vehicles surrounded Victor Hale's apartment building.
