FREYA

The blinding lights from the cameras flashed brightly against my eyes as I walked the red carpet with elegance and grace in a beautiful Louis Vuitton dress.

“Miss Ford! Over here... over here! You look gorgeous!”

I gave a smile as I walked back, a round of applause filling the air. I smiled to myself as I headed to my dressing room. I had one of Nick’s galas to attend, and I was already so tired—but there was no way I could tell Nick I wasn’t going to make it.

I sat in front of the mirror as my stylists redid my hair and makeup. A black dress was already laid out for me.

“Miss Ford, there’s someone here to see you,” one of my staff said. I was pissed—already tired as it was.

“Who the fuck is it?”

“She said her name is Blake, and she said she has information for you.”

“Everyone out!” I yelled, and they ran without thinking twice.

“Reporter Blake,” I said in a low voice, a big bright smile on my face. “What do you have for me today? I hope it’s good news.”

“Yes, it is, Miss… I mea

STELLAI kept pacing the living room back and forth, back and forth for about an hour now, chewing on my nails. My thoughts went back to Sheila. No matter how many times I try to tell myself she’s a grown adult, she could make her own decisions herself. It didn’t stop the sick feeling in my stomach. Logan wasn’t good for her. She was far too better for trash like him.But how was I going to fix this without losing her completely? Because she wasn’t even talking to me anymore.Oh God. I ran a hand through my messy hair.James sat across the couch, switching from one cooking channel to another. He wasn’t even watching it. For a moment I saw a smirk on his face.“You know, baby,” he started, “you’re going to wear a hole into the floor if you keep pacing like that, Stell.”I shot him a look. “You know I can’t help it. She’s my best friend. I can’t just sit back and watch her throw herself into a disaster. She has saved me so many times in the past this was my chance to pay her back.”He a

JAMES “Stella... please baby, look at me. I’m sorry.”She didn’t turn. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she watched the snow fall through the window. It’s been three days. She stopped sleeping in our room, she stopped talking to me. All my attempts at apologizing had failed. God, how could I have been so stupid?“I’m sorry, Stella,” I said, my voice low, rough. “I never should have spoken to you like that. Stella, you mean the world to me.” My voice cracked. “And I was never angry at you, I swear I wasn’t.”Finally, she turned to face me. Her face had no warmth in it, her eyes icy cold. No softness, just cold quiet and disappointment.God, it tore me apart.“I wasn’t mad because you had coffee with your ex,” I said quickly, rushing the words before she decided to walk away. “I don’t care about him. I trust you, Stella, I trust you more than anyone. That’s not what this is about.”But still, she said nothing. She just stood there, no words. She completely shut me out, and this

BRADThe city looked different on snowy nights. There were no stars in the sky just snow falling endlessly. I leaned closer to the glass, my hands in my pockets, my reflection staring back at me: sharp, calm. But right now I was far from calm. I was calculating.People always say every villain has an origin story. Maybe that's true, but I've never really considered myself a villain. No I actually see myself as the hero of this story. Most villains do what they do out of spite and anger, but not me. I do what I do because it's a necessary evil. And James… my dearest cousin James. If only he knew.If only he could see all the strings I've been pulling all along: the jobs, the threats, the man he had to kill in Russia it was all me. I was the puppeteer and my dear cousin James was the puppet. Every move, every moment of paranoia he was in now it was all thanks to me. I couldn't help but smile. The irony was that he still trusts me. He still believes I'm just the cheeky cousin who takes c

STELLAThe steam from my untouched cappuccino curled out of the cup and into the air, soft and fleeting as I sat at my usual spot by the window, trying to concentrate on people that passed by but it wasn’t working. My fingers tapped restlessly against the cup. The noise of the coffee shop was a little distracting, but it could only do so much to help with my anxiety. When the doors opened, I didn’t turn around to look, but I knew he was the one who walked in. My heart raced, and I tried to steady myself, but it felt like my body remembered him more than my mind did.Zade.He carried himself with quiet confidence. He looked like the boy I once knew, but now carved into a man. His blue eyes found mine, and I gripped my cup tighter like I was about to break it.“Thank you,” he said as he took a seat on the chair in front of me, his voice calm and genuine. “For agreeing to meet me.”I lifted my chin, composing myself before I spoke. “Don’t thank me, Zade. Please don’t. I’m only here for o

  • THE CEO’S DIRTY SECRET   CHAPTER 0088

STELLABy the time I got home, it felt like my chest had been ripped out. I just kept moving it felt like even the air could throw me off balance. Sheila’s words haunted me; she looked so angry, and I wished that was the worst of it. But no Zade had to reappear out of nowhere.I didn’t even realize I was crying until I pushed open the door and found James on his laptop, the firelight flickering against his sharp features. The moment his eyes met mine, all the walls I’d been holding up came crashing down and he rushed to my side.“Stella?” His voice carried both worry and surprise as I dropped the bags carelessly on the floor and rushed straight into his arms. The moment he wrapped me in his embrace, I broke, sobbing uncontrollably, hot tears soaking his shirt as I buried my head in his chest. His scent wrapped around me like a warm blanket, his hold steadied me, and when I finally lifted my head to look at him, he couldn’t hide his concern.“Hey… baby, what’s wrong?” he whispered, his

STELLAThe mall was buzzing with Christmas spirit. Everyone was dressed in colorful sweaters, bright lights strung across the ceiling, holiday music filling the air. I couldn’t help but echo it underneath my breath as shoppers came in and out with their arms filled with bags. Damn, it felt like the entire city was here.Sheila and I walked side by side, her heels clicking on the polished floor, her eyes scanning me every second as if she was searching for something—or waiting for something to happen.“Stella, are you sure you’re okay?” she asked for the hundredth time. “You were in the hospital not long ago. I was there, you know. I came to see you.”I shifted the shopping bags up my arm and gave her a small smile. “I know, Sheila. Brad told me, and I’m really sorry I wasn’t awake to see you. But I’m fine now really, I am. Just a little sore, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.”Sheila just watched me like she didn’t fully believe what I was saying, but eventually she sighed and looped h
