CHAPTER 8: CHANGE

The sun had just set and the sky outside turned an ominous shade of black. Lauren, one of the maids of the maids of Burlington Mansion, was busy bustling around the kitchen in preparation for the evening dinner when she noticed that Carson and Amethyst were not at home.

"Excuse me, Ms. Rosales," Lauren spoke to the head maid, "do the elder siblings usually come home this late?"

Ms. Rosales let out a deep sigh. "Those spoiled brats like to hang out with their friends. Amethyst even went to a sleepover without their father's permission."

Lauren furrowed her eyebrows in disappointment. It was hard to control a child's behavior, but she planned to help them change for the better.

"Oh, that's quite hard to handle. I hope we can guide them into the right path," she said.
