The dinner ended with Joseph leaving the table, but Tom made sure to stay and finish his food. Emily didn’t show up at school for days and was not picking up her calls which forced Jessica and Mark to come around looking for her. She was coming from the small mart where she went to restock her beer collection after consuming almost seven cans the previous night. She would have ran away to hide from them but they walked up on her unexpectedly so she didn’t have a choice than to entertain them. Jessica yelled angrily as she sighted her from afar and ran to catch up with her while shouting “Is your phone for decoration? Why are you not picking up our calls? Harvey indeed landed in Moscow like Joseph wanted, but she took another flight to Paris the next day to continue her shopping schedule. She didn’t have any reasons to obey Joseph and hide because of him, she had her life to live after all. She had been in Paris for quite a while but hadn’t shoped and influenced them on her channel since she landed because she was busy keeping up with the new fashion trends thanks to the lecture she received from Amber the last time she visited Shellhouse mall in Chicago. It occurred to her that she indeed needed a grasp of the fast-changing fashion trend. Amber had previously personally sent the set launching date to Dave Lin, but he declined the offer of being present with the excuse that he had so much to do, and it would be really inconvenient for him to come down to Chicago. She even gave him the option of rescheduling the event, but he was against it, claiming that this was the perfect time to launch the collection and his presence wouldn’t determine the public’s acceptability. She made sure to finish the project and finalize everything needed before she went to Paris for the art exhibition and Tom was fully in charge of the launching, since he hates ugly turnouts of events, he personally decided to coordinate it. Amber was picked up from the hotel by the car Lawrence sent over when she finished dressing up for the event. Her heart was almost jumping out of her mouth as she stepped a foot into the exhibition venue with her black bow mule heels and her teal wrap dress to match. The reporters rushed to worship her gracious entrance with a series of camera flashes as Lawrence introduced her. “I had released the names of every other artist and left one hidden purposely because they needed time to reveal themselves to the public. I don’t know if you are familiar with the artist with the awesome stroke on the internet, but ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to reveal to you the face of Artist Umbra”, Lawrence introduced, and the camera flashed nonstop as she stood up and walked to his side for identification. Tom knew it was a set-up. Immediately, he saw Joseph cut in when Dave was talking, although he was not sure if Dave was part of the plan, but one thing was sure, Joseph had a hand in this mess he had found himself. The crazy aspect was that there is no way to prove it was ruined by someone and provide evidence. He was going crazy at every tick of the clock. “I think you should calm down, Mr. Dave Lin and let’s cool down to solve this”, he pleaded, but Dave would not have it. He was scarily furious, and his French accent took over. The more he was pleaded to, the more he was getting angrier and seeing this, Tom concluded that it would be best to reschedule a meeting instead of wasting all day pleading with him and calm him down on camera. Tom was still trying hard to persuade Dave Lin about the clothes when one of the staff ran in to inform him of what was going on with Amber on the TV. “Put the TV on”, he commanded with worries laced in his eyes. He had warned everyone never to tell her, but she ended up finding out on TV, a live broadcast at that. Everyone in the conference room turned to watch her speech with them and saw how the interviewer asked her about the ripped clothes incident. She hesitated for a bit before replying with a confused face but comported herself to answer the sudden question. “I am surprised that you heard about the ripped clothes incident. That is incredible, but there is nothing much to the ripped cloth. It must have come as a shock to the public, and it’s understandable because it was a decision we took without consulting the designer or giving the public notice. FEW DAYS EARLIER Immediately, the employee, Joseph’s secretary, came to threaten to leave his presence. She thought about the offer, and it was honestly tempting, but thinking about how Amber pleaded with her before leaving to make sure everything went well, gave her some money and had always been a good colleague to her, she decided to forfeit the money she was promised and called Amber to inform her of what was going. “I can’t believe he’s going this far to ruin his hard work”, Amber, who couldn’t believe what she had just heard, remarked in shock.
